About
Perched in the hills above Santa Cruz, DeLaveaga Golf Course & Lodge features plenty of elevation changes as well as tight, tree-lined fairways making this short layout anything but a cinch. The result of the tight layout, however, often translates into long rounds as higher handicappers look for their golf balls in the woods. Designed by Bert Stamps, the golf course opened in 1970. Conditioning is average, but DeLaveaga Golf Course & Lodge's green fees are a small fraction of its more famous neighbors.

Love the layout, but DeLa appears to be pricing themselves out of reach of the local market!
Greens are punched
Was bummed to fined out greens were punch and sand was all over them
Sanded Greens Aug 29th Makes Putting
This is one of my favorite courses with a great layout that is challenging, but fair. However, with the greens being sanded on Aug 29 & 30 2020, it makes it a lot less fun. I'd avoid this course for the next month until November 2020 when the greens are back to normal.
Average Muni
Staff was great. Course was beat up bad. No fun driving the fairway and sitting on dirt. Had to move my ball 3 feet to find some grass. Like to play clean “as it lies”. No chance for that here. Won’t play again.
Good course. Not in the best condition.
The greens were in pretty good shape. However the fairways were in desperate need of more water. And some of the sand traps did not even have sand. Good course however, and very friendly staff.
Hidden Gem
Course is so challenging. You have to wlak songle file do wn so.e fairways. lol
Greens sre fast and tricky.

Great course and staff was super helpful
Our TeeOff Was at 7:50 this morning and we got there a hour early to hit balls at range but found out there range wasn’t open till 8 am so we started are round ice cold and it took us a few holes to warm up. we finished hole 9 at turn and asked the pro shop staff if we could start over because of are misunderstanding about the range and not being able to be warmed up. They said no problem and set us off again at 9:45 which was super cool! we got to shoot 18 and played a fantastic round super happy will be back for sure love the place. They didn’t charge us for the start over and were super great-full Definitely saved to the favorites!!!
Quality slipping
I've loved this course for 25 years and was disappointed to see how bad the condition of the course was in. The greens are still good (yay!) but the tee boxes are horrendous. Chewed up, long weeds, uneven...a mess. Fairways were patchy at best. Had to play winter rules. That all being said... may go back on Thursday.

Course in great shape. Pace was fine. Challenging layout. Reasonable price. Love De La!
Better than most
Decent round, no issues with pace and the course was decent. Range was not great and the layout to get going was not clear. For the money it was a win, wish it was closer.
