About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Great conditione great layout
as usual the course was in great shape. Play was a little slow today but the slow group was kind at the turn and offered to let us play through.
Gorgeous Golf Course
Played a lot of nice golf courses and this one is up there. From the Tees to the greens, this course is extremely well kept. Not too long, but the course layout and water hazards on pretty much every hole will challenge you. The views of the marsh and lagoons are breath taking, the trees and landscaping are very beautiful. The course will definitely give you that low country, intercoastal feel. Course is a 10/10.

Great course
This is a great course with a great lay out. Stuff was very friendly but pace of play was very slow. Foursome in front of us were also jerks about it. But overall great course

Great track and great views
Course is in great condition from fairways to greens. Some difficult and some easy holes. Par 3 16 over the water is the signature hole for sure. Overall, enjoyed the day!

Bang for your buck
Course is great value for Florida and Georgia residents! Staff was fantastic and course was in beautiful shape. Some hole have a beautiful look at the Marsh. Will definitely be playing again!

Overall very nice course except bunkers. Be prepared to share a cart with a stranger.
Great course. Beautiful. Challenging. Conditions above satisfactory, except for bunkers. Beware that they are NOT practicing common sense social distancing regarding cart sharing. You will be asked to share a cart even with someone outside of your household. Their excuse is that as long as a mask is provided then the CDC allows them to do this. Obviously, this is highly suspect because it places you in immediate contact with someone all day (no 6ft buffer zone). Most other courses in the area are 1 per cart. This policy should at least be posted online on the reservations sites so that one could avoid a contentious encounter with the cart keepers like I had.

Good layout
Played as a single , late afternoon. Only took 3 hours as the course was almost empty. Layout was excellent, greens had been punched the week before and top dressed, so they weren’t rolling the best. Typical Dye areas around the greens with interesting chipping areas. Good mix of short holes and 4 tough holes from the back tees. Think it played longer from the back than yardage on card.
Great value, great staff in pro shop, will be back often as I just moved to the area

Course is in great shape
The course is in great shape and the greens are fast and the course layout is challenging. If you don’t like fast greens then this is not the course for you. The pace of play was a bit slow for my liking but we completed our round in about 4:30 hours.

Not a good value
None of the bunkers were worked up and playable. Greens were plugged and sanded. You banged the ball in not putted it..

Holes 7-9 and 16-18 are fantastic. Players need to play 16 from the gold tees (it’s only a golf ball) to see one of the best views on the entire course.
