Good value for money
We had heard varied reports about this course but was pleasantly surprised at how good was the course condition. Not a great challenge but excellent value for money. The pro shop and grill were disappointing but you don't play golf in the club house.
Golf outing at Peliccan Bay South
My wife and I enjoyed our game of golf at Pelican Bay. The water comes into play on most of the holes. Greens were good buy had some bumpy areas. Good value for the money.
The course was challenging.
Course was in very good shape except some green's.
Good value for Money
Good course and nice challenge. Staff was friendly. Not pristine, but way more of a value than the $20 price would indicate.
pick another golf course
the pro shop never told us the greens had a thick layer of sand on them prior to me booking with golfnow.the person behind the desk at check-in was very unprofessional when I asked about not being told about the sandy greens.
golfing in florida
course needed at least one bathroom on the front nine and some ball washers would have really been helpful too
Improving !!!
Efforts put into the course by the new owners are beginning to pay dividends. The course is in the best condition I've seen here in many years !! The tee boxes are improved along with the fairways, and work is being done to improve the greens. Highly recommend this challenging course.
good shape
The condition of this course has steadily improved over the last 18 months. with the exception of a few bare spots on some greens it is in very good condition. I call this the WORT course, virtually every hole has : water on the right. Give it a shot. Excellent deals available on Golfnow.
Greens poor
Greens were in bad shape. Pace of play was good. Grass was thin and uneven.
Pelican Bay: South worth the trip
I received a tee time of 7AM - forgot the time change so it was still dark when I arrived - - the starter/counter person met me at the car and took my clubs off to the clubhouse while I got my spikes on - wow, color me impressed - was told I would be first out and could proceed as soon as it was light enough to hit. Spent the time talking to a couple of older gents who are regulars - they gave me some pointers on what to watch out for on the course - finally around 7:25 it was light enough and off I went - first couple of holes passed quickly - this course is very challenging and has water on 17 holes also includes and Island Green or 2 - this was a quick round - being the first out I had noone in front of me and since I get to the ball, line up and hit I played 18 in a little under 2.5 hours - shot a respectable 90 on a course I had never seen - I made a few mistakes in shot selection but this was an enjoyable experience - I will be back and this is definitely worth to 30 minute drive - I recommend this course.......go Play is right!
South
enjoyed the course and layout. wish the greens were in better condition.
Sanded greens, not enough staff
Booked on GolfNow. No info that greens were sanded and no notice from pro shop
When we checked in. One man operation
At noon-Proshop, carts, phone, bar. Guy was busy and not very helpful. Got a drink after the round. $12 for two airline bottles of bourbon in a styrofoam cup. Not much of a clubhouse. Have played course before and it is ok. OK for the price but could use some more, and friendlier staff.
Don't bother
Even though we got a great deal on Golf Now I would not recommend this course to anyone right now. Greens were the worst I have ever seen!
needs care
Was a nice course, like the lay out needs some tender loving care, can be nice again.
Not What We Expected!
Beer too expensive. Greens - very poor condition. Ladies room dirty - no toilet tissue.
terrible greens
The greens were in terrible condition. Told a female employee about them and she said they had a fungus. Had a friend and he played it last year and said it was a terrible course. The only reason I played it was because of the great price on Golf Now.com.
Golf Now Hot Deal-OK
If I had paid what the regular Golf Now greens fee was, I would have been extremely disappointed. Better title might have been,."Where's the grass?" Way to much bare dirt/sand on fairways, around the greens and on the greens themselves.
