The Club at Pelican Bay - South Course

did not like the lay out ,the fairway in just fair codition,no practice green but the staff very friendly

course is in great shape an the folks are very friendly and helpful.

Very well kept no an easy golf course I would suggest you bring some more golf ball if you have a problem with your driver .But all in all a nice day for golf at a great price.

we got there an hour early hoping to hit range balls. Not only was there not a driving range but no putting green either. The course was not in very good condition. Greens had just been punched. Fairways and tees had not been mowed either. We are playing LPGA international tomorrow for the same price. Definitely a nix on my list.the layout was cool with several greens surrounded by waterbut the condition of the course took all of the fun out of it.

I was on vacation for a week and played the course 2 times and Pelican Bay's North Course once. First time I have played it in a year or so and I must say the course has come a long way. Tee boxes are good, fairways are perfect, and greens are in good shape. Also, one of the best layouts in the area!. No two holes are alike and must use every club in your bag. Best Deal in town and a must play. Surprised the course wasn't jammed packed!

I hate to be this way, but this golf course is just really boring. Unimaginative layout. Repetitive, look-alike holes. ZZZZZZ....
It certainly did not hold my interest, failing to inspire from the first hole, one of seemingly hundreds of medium-length par fours that I encountered.
Okay, obviously that's an exaggeration, and I guess the course had a moment or two of interest, but tellingly, I can't remember a single one.
In fairness, I will say that the course was in great condition, with smooth, medium-quick greens, and I encountered not another soul with a 1:00 p.m. tee time.
Not bad. Just boring, and boredom is avoidable in central Florida golf, even when your golf budget is as miniscule as mine. You can do better.

pretty golf course, need to keep everything in the fairway or you have not much of a chance finding the ball in the rough.

I can't believe I played the same course as some of the previous reviewers I played this course many times over the past 5 years and think its in the worst shape I have ever seen it. Every green was in poor condition most were burned, full of sand. The 13th green has been in sad shape for years. The 12th fairway had a huge patch of muck right behind the traps and the fairways were in need of attention. The course was making progress over the past 3 years but it was just awful last week. Even for an inexpensive round of golf, not worth the time

Have not played here for about 8 months. I was happy with the improving conditions. The fairways were good, the tees were acceptable and the greens were a lot better. A few greens had some bad spots but were playable. Worth the golf now price.

Pelican Bay South was in the best shape that I have ever seen it (10 years). All but two of the greens were in very good shape. One had a couple of spots and one was in poor condition (this green has always been bad. Fairway and tee boxes...good
It was hard to tell about the bunkers...seemed to have had plenty of sand,,,,but needed raking...we had had a lot of rain the previous three days.

Nice course but there has been a lot of rain in the area and it was wet in spots. Most fairways are tree lined and tight.

ALTHOUGH THE COURSE WAS VERY WET DUE TO ALL THE RAIN IN THE AREA WE STILL ENJOYED PLAYING. THE GREENS WERE IN GREAT SHAPE. THE SECOND AND THIRD CUTS WERE VERY HIGH I ASSUMED DUE TO THE RAIN AND NOT BEING ABLE TO CUT EVERYTHING. WILL PLAY AGAIN THE NEXT TIME I'M IN THE AREA.

Best layout I can remember. Plenty of variety. Bring your game or be humbled. Condition has improved dramaticaly. Cudos to the grounds crew.

As a result of: 1) Central Florida having 23 out of 24 days of rainy conditions, 2) Pelican Bay originally built in low/swampy area, 3) ineffective course drainage, the course has deteriorated over the years and had several wet/muddy areas on most, if not all the fairways. These were almost impossible to avoid as there are not complete cart paths. Therefore, carts must pass through these wet/swampy areas which only worsens the condition. Additionally, most of the sand bunkers had standing water in them so long that tadpoles were swimming in them. If the sand bunkers didn't have standing water in them, they were hard packed sand that was almost unplayable for the average player...like me.

Greens and fairways are much improved over six months ago. The course layout is nice with some risk/reward holes and some decent par fives.

One of my least favorite Florida courses. Needs updating and, at the least, mowing.

This is a great course. Granted, the greens need some attention... but they still ran true even though there were several bald spots.

2 things really stood out to me during this round: The layout was outstanding with every hole offering something unique. Also, the fairways were in absolute PRISTINE condition. I golf just a couple times per month, so I usually roll the ball in the fairway to give myself a better lie if its not maintained. I didn't have to do it once, and my driver was 'cooking' hitting the short grass over 75% of the time.

Again, great course if you check your expectations on the greens. Will definitely be playing here again, and for a guy who grew up playing Daytona beach courses I'd definitely rank it in the top 3 for the area.

In better shape than years. A couple, maybe three greens need a littleTLC, but what a bargain.

Enjoyed a great Day at Pelican Bay. Our foursome was a bit late getting together so we missed our tee time by a few minutes. The staff was pleasant and fit us into the line up with a short wait. Course was well maintained although a couple of the greens had some rough spots. The fairways felt a little narrow as most are bordered by water and natural pine forest. For the money, this was more course than expected.

Fairways and Tee-boxes were in great shape.I haven't played here for several years because of traditionally poor conditions.I was quite and pleasantly suprised with the improvement. The greens had some rough spots,but were being worked on.
