Don't play this course
We should have read the reviews before going. It was a bargain on golfnow, so we went. The tees were the only nice thing on the course. No grass even on the fairways. The greens were grassless. The sand was hard. We will never go back there.
Waste of money
Only the 18th green was any better than putting on Daytona Beach nothing but sand, 5 hours to play 18 holes is a joke on this course. Front nine was backed up on every shot, the course allows two somes to go out back to back then to make matters worse they put people out on number 10 at the same time. No rangers people giving lessons on the course( three -five shots from same location) but the sun was out.
Brutal course
I took my mother here for her first time golfing due to the decent overall price on golfnow and the 3 star review. It was aweful. The fairways and rough was all in one. It seemed the only thing they took the time to manicure was certain tee boxes. Greens 9 and 18 are decent, probably because they are closest to the clubhouse. Every other green was mostly dirt with patches of dead grass, which naturally made the balls dance around the green. The conditions around most greens were so bad, we began putting, yes putting from 30-50 yards from the hole. Absolutely atrocious conditions. I will never visit this course again if you paid me.
Greens horrible
We played for $25 a guy but greens were so bad we aren't sure we got our money's worth. Play the north course for a few bucks more
Rapport qualité-prix.
Le terrain est d'assez bonne qualité, et les prix sont raisonnables. A conseiller pour ceux qui ne veulent pas payer trop cher.
Worthy of your consideration
Stopped here on our way back to Kentucky because it was not far off I-95 in a gated community.
Wife and I were able to get on right away, a half hour before our scheduled time. A plus was being allowed to play in jeans on a cool and windy, but sunny, day.
The fairways had not seen moisture for a few days so the ground was firm but green, which allowed drives to roll a long way. Although there are quite a few water hazards I lost most balls in the tree-lined doglegs than anywhere else. Greens were in their usual "winter stage" - a little sandy, but we found them to still roll true.
Overall the course is well-kept and great for those wanting to hone their driving and long iron skills.
We had a great time and hope to find another great deal at Pelican Bay South when we return in early summer with our son-in-law in tow.
muddy mess
Greens were a mess. Mostly all sand. What greens had grass were really scetchy. Fairways were ok but really muddy. Real bad day not to have a towel.
Pelican Bay South
The greens were in terrible shape, They were mostly sand. The greens need to be reseeded and watered.
Needs work
I gave this course a fair rating because it is in much need of some reseeding. The greens were in need of reseeding. They were more sand than grass and the fairways weren't far behind. I'm glad that were able to play this course at a low price otherwise I would have been upset.
Poor value
Fairways in reasonable shape but greens in pathetic condition
Old and tired
Got a great rate on this course it was very wet and the grass in fairways was very thin you will have to keep the ball
In play as there is water everywhere I recommend it for the price unfortunately it's like so many course in America there is no money to take proper care of them
no grass
greens had fungus and around the greens had no grass . grass on fairways too short nothing to hit off had to roll the ball on every shot to a weed to avoid hitting into the ground/ dirt. left after 14 holes it was so bad. we should be refunded
grass?
ball in the fairway and having to hit off of a dirt patch. many greens lack grass coverage.
Great layout, Terrible greens
The course layout is very nice and could be a really good place to play but the greens are un-puttable. It seems that some type of pesticide or chemical has been applied to the greens and killed all of the grass. It is like putting in the parking lot. What a waste of time.
Greens need work
Nice layout of course, lots of water on almost every hole, friendly staff---but the greens are in really bad shape. They said they reseeded them and are waiting to see how they come back in a month or so, areas around greens also bare and hard to hit approach shots. Great value for money and played in less than 3 1/2 hours!!!
Worst course I've played in years
Extremely slow play. No ranger to speed things up . Allow people playing 9 holes to start off the back nine holding up players making the turn for 18. Greens were terrible. Fairways were like hitting off plain dirt. The worst 5 hours I have ever spent on a golf course.
Good Track That Needs Work
Challenging layout with lots of canals and trees wandering thru nice neighborhoods. Tees were overseeded and in great condition, fairways were thin, and greens had overseed or were bare. Not much Bermuda on the greens. Getting the greens in shape would make this an above average course. Until then, I would avoid this course.
Improving
Course is improving over what it was. Tees and fairways are filling in from recent over seed but still very wet. Greens still need some work.
potato field?
The greens were even worse than springtime in Sweden layout of the track is good. Friendly staff once you got hold of someone. Would not recommend this course.
