The Club at Pelican Bay - South Course

Except for a couple of sanded greens, course in great condition.

While the course has challenging aspects, many of the greens were in need of attention to the point that putting was often over bare or bumpy spots.

Generally in pretty good shape, a couple of greens need work.

Have played this course for over ten years the greens are normaly some of the best in the area. They seem to have a fungus on some of them.

For a private community you would expect better course conditions. Every single green had issues, not some all. Fairways had tight lies and bald spots. Too bad they can't get the fairways like the tee boxes. Staff was nice

The greens need alot of work. About half were ok but some were hardly puttable. The fairways weren't that great either. It is a shame because the layout is pretty nice. Just needs some TLC. Only paid $12 though so can't complain about that.

Not much positive occurring with the operation and maintenance of this course. Their sister North course gets all the attention and is recommended. Too bad the homeowners don't exert more pressure to keep the South course in better shape as it has some good holes.

It was cloudy, misty, and chilly. Glad I had an extra layer. The dampness and the recent greens maintenance prevented putting from saving the day, no true roll with all the tracking on the ball. But as a first timer, I liked the layout, hole 11 in particular.

The course is not in bad condition except for the greens that are completely on sand. They should tell us before we booked.

The course is always well maintained and staff are very friendly.

This course was a tremendous disappointment; I am sorry to say. The greens were in deplorable condition. Today the were covered in sand however it didnt appear as if they had been airated recently. Once I took a better look under the sand I could see that the sand covered blotches of missing grass. There must have been a fungus on the greens. Truth be told, we are all accustomed to seeing some green damage on a few holes, but this was every hole. Fairways were poor as well. I have nothing positive to say regarding the course itself. The staff was friendly, however I wouldn't play this course again for any price; it just wasn't enjoyable.

The course was very wet and had standing water in numerous areas of the fairway, tees and paths although heavy rains had ceased 5 days before. Greens were thin, but OK: appeared stressed. Not sure if the clubhouse was being rebuilt or was in a general state of disrepair because of the debre surrounding it. Very limited staff.

We've played this course each yr for about 15 yrs during fall visits to Daytona- - - going back to when the north course was "private only". This is the worst the course has looked. They're not taking care of it. I mentioned it to the desk guy and he was dismissive, saying everyone else compliments them on the conditions and that I was wrong. It can't be the weather because we played Spruce Creek, Cypress Head, New Smyrna Beach and LPGA and they didn't have course condition problems.

Overall the fairways and most every green was in great condition.Fun course to play.

I played on a weekday afternoon in early September so the course was lightly used. Played alone but still enjoyed it. Lots of water including one island green. The course conditions were excellent although short of pristine. Greens were a little slow. Overall, I would recommend this course and would golf there again.

This could be a very nice course, but the grounds need some work. The greens were covered with sand and had not been "whipped"(they should have mentioned that ), and the fairways were spotty. I'll chalk it up to winter. There is a nice mix of water and trees and traps - makes you place your shots or you pay the price.
