Dear island, a thing of beauty
Play this course the first time three weeks ago. I was looking on GolfNow and saw a very favorable hot deal so I jumped on it. My fault I should’ve called The and ask about the aeration and sanding of the greens when I got to the course they told me that the greens have been aerated and sanded. I didn’t realize it before hand, the price to play.
The course is in excellent condition. I made the best of the situation I had the whole course basically to myself, so I used it as a practice round without putting on the greens.
Looking forward to playing it again this year. Dear Island is a beautiful course with an abundance of nature. One of the best venues in Central Florida
Deer Island
Great layout. Very challenging. Water in play on almost every hole. Plays tough in the wind.
Thank you for your feedback. We're thrilled you enjoyed the challenging layout and appreciate your insight on how wind impacts play.
Great Shape
Course was in great shape. Greens looked good, but were somewhat slow. Assume with recent heat and lack of rain they are protecting them
Thank you for acknowledging the condition of our course. We appreciate your understanding regarding the greens; we're indeed adjusting them to ensure their best condition considering the weather.
Deer Island - a hidden gem
Beautiful course. Challenging layout. Lots of water. Beautiful scenery. Bring extra balls. Would definitely play again. Greens were in good shape as were fairways. Highly recommend
Thank you for the kind words and recommendation! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the course and look forward to having you back.
Great challenging course.
If you haven’t ever golfed Deer Island you owe it to yourself to play a round there. It is unique. It is on an island between lake Dora and lake Beauclaire. As you can imagine there is a lot of water. I enjoy it every time we play there. It’s truly a beautiful course.
Private Country Club Style Golf
Excellent Course Layout in excellent condition. Looks and plays like a premium private Country Club style course. Famous golf course designer cues including landscaping framing the greens for visual effect and targeted shot placement off the tees . Nothing boring about any hole. Will definitely play again
Deer Island
Read about this course and heard others talk about it. Very picturesque course and challenging.
great course
very challenging course in great shape we plsyed 2 others in the area and the greens were bad but not here its in awesome shape
Favorite place
If you like playing golf with a bunch of wildlife around you, this is a great course to be on. The holes are challenging and the wildlife is beautiful. Always try to play when we’re in town.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoy the challenging holes and wildlife; we look forward to your next visit.
Still in good shape
Greens fine, a few stress areas but putting smoothly. Tees, fairways and traps showing a bit of wear typical for this transition period. Nice layout, wonderful place to play, with the exclusive feeling of an island.
Deer island
I love the layout of this course, some challenging holes, but the course was in great condition. Definitely coming back.
Great Day
Course was amazing and in great shape. They advise playing a tee rating one less than you normally play - we took their advice and later thought we were wise to heed the warning. Greens at small and a lot of tricky water hazards. Winds off the lake can be hazardous. Great course!
Always a good choice…
Great course and layout. Conditions of course very good and is consistent from that standpoint. Pace of play was unusually slow and would have been nice for rangers to help speed things up rather than just watching. Very nice staff.
Thank you for appreciating our course and staff. We apologize for the slow pace of play and will work on improving ranger intervention for a better experience.
Thank you for your review and for bringing the aeration issue to our attention; we apologize for any inconvenience it caused. We're thrilled you still enjoyed your round and appreciate the compliments on our course's condition and natural beauty.
