Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Course layout was great. Most holes were good but for the price and the reputation 4-5 holes needing some TLC is unacceptable. For first timers, we were greeted with unfriendly personnel including the starter and the entourage of employees just standing by rudely directing orders.
Will be back to give this another shot but the lack of hospitality and signage will keep me away for some time.
Make sure you're not playing the same day as an outing
I played Las Colinas, one of my favorite courses yesterday and it was a total disaster. Despite plenty of staff available there was no starter on number one and we started approximately 15 minutes late. There was also no ranger on the course. Two foursomes in front of us let us through but we still waited on EVERY shot. After 4 hours and 50 minutes we reached number 17 tee to find there was a foursome on the tee, one in the fairway and one on the green. We had had enough and didn't bother to play the last two holes. I was scheduled to play El Campion the next day but decided against it after such an unpleasant experience at Los Colinas. I'm not sure we will be back at Mission Inn in the future. My wife loves the spa but it's not worth it if I have to go through such an unpleasant time on the golf course.
A very nice course
We had the course to ourselves on a Thursday afternoon in October. Las Colinas first winds through a neighborhood of beautiful resort homes done in a Spanish style. Then the course goes off into the wilderness where away from the houses, with only the birds. Some fairways are undulating. Greens both above and below the fairway make for and interesting round. The staff is friendly and we always stay at the Mission Inn for dinner and drinks.
Las Colinas Course at Mission Inn
I celebrated my birthday golfing at Mission Inn with my son. It was a blast. The staff members were all very nice to us. The greens and the fairways are in excellent condition. We will be back. Highly recommended.
Good course, slow play
Course and staff were good, but pace of play was slow. Groups including poor golfers allowed to play Championship Course. Ended up waiting ten minutes to play every shot. Eventually came off after thirteen
Felt sorry for ambassador who was waiting at eighteenth
Great time …..
Had a great time out yesterday. Course is in great condition / beautiful layout / greens in great shape.
By far one of the best courses in area for the money. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Condition a disapiontment
A nice course layout and Clubhouse. some of the fairways and semi rough needed attendance therefore to many balls lost balls
Fun but Challenging Course
Word to the wise...stay out of the rough...Bermuda is a club killer if you can find your ball. The greens were fair but challenging and fairly fast. This course is not tricked up...fair, beautiful and in great shape.
The rough was rough
Driving range was closed yet it wasn’t specified on Golfnow. I even called the pro shop to see if there were any course concerns brought on by the recent hurricane- nothing was said about the range. The rough was very long and we spent half our day looking for golf balls that didn’t find the fairway, but should’ve been easy to locate. Las Colinas is a tight course and keeping the rough shorter would make play more enjoyable. I’ve played this course before and it’s always impeccable, so I assume it hadn’t been mowed due to the hurricane and sogginess. The greens were impeccable. All in all, not a bad day. But just a little frustrating.
Great Day of Golf
Was a perfect day on the course, pace of play was superb, everything was great, love this course. Our only complaint is it was hot, you are not permitted to bring coolers to the course and no cart person on the course. We were down to sharing our last half bottle of water for the last five holes, was a lesson in survival. Looking forward to our next round.
Hidden jewel
My my. I had heard that this course was one of the best in Florida. Facts!!!
Beautiful course but so hard
I had read some reviews about the rough here being deep but man, this was another level. I have played some courses with deep roughs but this surpassed all of those so be prepared with many extra balls. An amazing drive should be watched until you see it fully stop cause you still might lose it. Besides that beautiful course and friendly staff.
Good but frustrating
First time playing this course. Course was I. Good condition and greens were excellent. The one issue I had was the length of the rough. If your ball ran through the fairway or bounced off the back of the green, you had to search for 10 minutes to find your ball, even though you had a good idea where it was. You literally had to step on the ball to find it. Just became frustrating for a non-professional golfer.
