Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Marks review
Excellent golf course in fantastic shape. I’ll be back
Nice course and good conditions. Greens not extremely fast but rolled nicely.
Challenging Layout
Well maintained, greens roll true and great fairways and approaches. Layout avoids parallel fairways, nice! Scenery was excellent and housing was set back and not crowding play. Enjoy!
Always a treat
Mission Inn is a must play!!!! Always demanding from any tee box. Layout very challenging with excellent greens. All of this at a reasonable price.
Happy I played.
Course was in great condition. Was first one out and had very relaxing round. Lots of water, sand & Trees. Good assortment of hole designs (uphill, downhill and doglegs). Alligator Alley hole is as tight of a hole there is. Drive has to be spot on or your fighting for par. Definitely a must play.
Good course , great value
This course is a good course, excellent greens although slower than the sister course and putting green but still run very true. The fairways and tee blocks are in good shape. It wasn't busy so as a twosome was able to talk and play in under 3 hours on this day. I have played a 5 hour round on the sister course which is too difficult for some people to play. As a result this course is excellent value.
Great shape
Played the Las Colinas course a few years ago and came back to try it again. It didn’t disappoint. Despite the wet conditions (it rained the first 8 holes). the course was in great shape. Some of the fairways were a bit soggy but that was to be expected Not many on the course because of the weather so pace of play was excellent. Staff we’re friendly. Will be back to play the El Campeon course.later this week.
Beautiful
Beautiful course. Fairways and greens spectacular. Outside of the fairway was not perfect but a where around the greens and the greens themselves and fairways were amazing.
Great Track
We drove for more than an hour and got lost twice, but this was still a fun day for six Canadians. It’s out of the way, but wish we had booked another round for our trip. Nice layout, great conditions and a friendly location for a beer and food after. A fabulous day out.
Some Attention To Detail
I love the course but for the price there is attention to some detail lacking. Some tee markers were reversed, parts of the course that were very wet should of been appropriately marked. Worst of all is no rangers on the course to keep an eye on pace of play. Starter allowed 5 ball to play between groups when the course was busy. Man in the pro shop was rude and told me, you have no choice as a single but to be placed in a 4 ball. I get that and totally understand except I stood there and watched to 2 balls go out 2 groups before me. There was no reason to have to play a 5 hour and 15 minute round. I will definitely come play again as I live local but pay some attention to the important details.
OK but not nearly as good as El Campeon
First time playing Las Colinas. I had high hopes because El Campeon is always a treat to play. To be fair, the layout is nice and the little interaction with the staff was cordial. The course however was a let down. The tee boxes were good. No glaring bare spots. The fairways were OK but not real plush. This course does not seem to drain that well. There were many areas that were very wet. The rough was brown and patchy in many spots. Not what you would expect for peak season. The greens were a let down. They had recently fertilized and hadn't been mowed in what appeared to be a couple of days. The putting green rolled great and then you hit the course and the greens were very SLOOOOOOW. You really had to muscle it to get it to the hill. Even when putting down hill they were very slow. All in all, it was very disappointing. Next time out, I'll play El Campeon and skip Las Colinas.
JUST GO PLAY THERE!
Tees, greens, fairways always in top shape. One of my favorite venues - better than El Campion for me.
Play Again
Course was in very good condition, very challenging but fair. Due to our handicaps we played the mixed tees equaling just over 6000 yds.
Enjoyed this course and will definitely play again.
Exceptional track
Didn't really know much about course. About 45 minute drive from where I rent. Pleasantly surprised. Very long. Not that difficult if you can keep it straight or hit your targets. Greens were A1. Some bunkers should have been drained from rain and some areas on fairways were soggy. Surrounded by beautiful homes. very impressive. 2 Birdies, that's it. Marshalling would help.
I did not rate the course excellent, however it is excellent for the money. After playing this course, I am booking two more days there before moving on.
Nice course. We would play again. Price was $46 a player.
Enjoyed the course. Several twosomes stacked up behind a foursome caused play to be slow. We were the last twosome.
