Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Greens are destroyed
Greens are wholly destroyed at this point. Difficult to recommend playing this course until the greens are fixed. Don't know what happened but it was all 18 of them.
New Greens are Dead
Greens were redone last year and they are already in state of disrepair. They are dead. Completely brown on each hole. Approach shots will not hold and just roll off the back of the green. Speed is impossible to control. Would not recommend spending your money here. It’s sad to see the complete lack of care in these greens, as I’m sure they spent a lot of money completely redoing the greens last year. This course used to be one of the best in West Jacksonville, there is so much potential as the course layout is challenging but a lot of fun. And forget about playing a 4 hour round. The pace of play is laughable. No rangers on the course leads to 5 - 5&1/2 hour rounds. Truly disappointing to see this happen to this course.
New Greens??…
Greens were in terrible condition. For a course that just redid every green it’s pretty sad that they are all brown and dead. Not a single approach shot held as everything just runs off the back and putting was a struggle with the speed and dead spots
New greens are ruined.
Unfortunately someone scorched the brand new greens/collars and they are gone. A worker there told me if they can’t get them back they’ll have to rip them up again and start over. What a shame and place was starting to come around. If they do have to redo them I hope they deal with the drainage issues they never fixed the last time.
A-day of golf
Spent the day playing Bent Creek greens are in poor condition fairways in good they put a 5 some out ahead of us and 22 Sims and a single slowed play way down over 5 hours to complete the round beautiful day so we enjoyed it anyway
Dead greens
The new greens have been killed. They hope they come back when the nights get warmer. Sad. They spent a lot of time and money over the last year on the putting surfaces.
Awful
I told people 13 years ago this course was Jacksonvilles hidden gem. Played quite a few times. I have never seen the conditions as bad. There are no greens. Fairways very erwet no grooming. Tee boxes needed cutting, practice area needed work. Sorry very disappointed. Will not return for awhile
You get what you pay for
Course was in decent shape, held a lot of water from the rains but that’s typical for the area and expected. The greens rolled fast but didn’t respond to anything landing on it. It was pretty much like playing in the parking lot with how hard they were.
Bent Creek review
Nice public course. Excellent value for the money. Fairways a little thin on grass that early in the year but very playable. Greens rolled smoothly. Enjoyable and worth the money. Will play again on next trip to Florida.
Terrible condition
Played Bent Creek on 3/6 and I’d say it was bad, very bad. The tee boxes were bare spots and dirt galore. The greens were yes fast but all brown , no grass or green at all and weeds are around the fringe. The course was littered with TRASH , beer bottles , water bottles , a cart sand pail & scoop, safety cones and a 5 hour round of golf will have me not returning. Sad that so much money was spent on redoing their greens last year to see the course in such poor shape and littered with trash.
Fun challenging course loved playing on it the green are a little hard and fast but they have just been redone so they will improve
