Blue Sky Golf Club

I played two days after Hurricane Matthew was here and it surprisingly wasn't underwater. The greens however weren't in the greatest shape. I was also supprised the Flag Sticks didn't have GPS targets to if you have a range finder it can be a little frustrating. Definitely like the clubhouse and amenities. Staff was friendly

I thought it was going to be over priced but i definately got a fantastic course for the money. Fairly challenging and the food was delicious. I would recommend the Gold Burger. Probably going golfinh again there next week. Very please.

Booked on GolfNow. Must have been 7 other carts at the first tee. most with the same tee time. The starter did a good job at pairing up groups. Pace of play was good and the course is in nice shape.

Course has made significant improvement. Fairways actually have grass on them. Some tee boxes could be improved; many with a large amount of bare/rough spots and several greens with brown/dirt spots. You could tell that work is in progress and improvement should be seen following the heat.

I played with 3 other new friends. All about 100 golfers. Course was nice, in fairly good condition. Some sand and worn spots on the greens. Greens had been recently airated. Conditions were wet - we played the day after some big storms, it it was expected. Had a bit of a problem with the golf cart - would not always go, jumped, and battery faded near the end -'thought we were going to have to walk the last hole. Finished in just over 4 hours so not bad. Probably better than I anticipated -'all in all.

Had a good time only parts of the fairways needs to be watered more and fertilized. Lay out is good. Thanks to Groupon the price was really good. Thanks

Not only were the greens brown an ruff there were more than 1 were there was no grass they had large spots of sand , speaking of had I been informed they were also sanding the greens I would have expected it . Discount should have been offered, overall this corse needs a lot of TLC.

This course was really starting to come along however it seems to have reverted back to where it began before the new ownership took over. I know they are making efforts to repair the greens (or lack thereof) but it really seems to be a lost cause sometimes. I may attempt to go back in a few months and hope for the best but I am not holding my breath.

Finally went out to with my buddies to Blue Sky and check it out under the new ownership. My best comparison would be it's very comparable to Hyde Park in terms of conditions and clientele. Great layout and a lot of fun holes but the conditions and pace are still a bit substandard to the courses we would typically play on a weekend (i.e. North/South Hampton, Eagle Landing, SJG&C, Amelia River, etc.). Perhaps it's the rye-Bermuda seasonal transition but it's still got work to do in a lot of areas. Might give it another shot in the heart of summer when the rain picks up, Bermuda takes over and the course 'greens' up and fills in. Clubhouse and staff were great. Course is very player friendly (easy!). Mats on the range, especially on the weekend is a huge turnoff. Especially when a small bucket of balls is $6 and there is plenty of grass to hit off of. All things considered, we had a great day and great time though. Blue Sky will appeal greatly to the beginning golfer or to those "regulars" that call it home.

Dry conditions may account for some of the conditions. However, there was little or no grass on many tee boxes. Greens are hurting. We were unable to finish one hole due to work going on on the green. We won't be back.

Huge improvement in course conditions. Obvious new owners and Management are dedicated to improve the place!

If I were just ranking the golf course, I would have given Blue Sky three stars overall. It's a good layout, but conditioning could be a little better. Still, with that said, almost every level of golfer will find enjoyment here. From the back tees, it's plenty of golf course, but from the more forward tees, it's very playable. Best of all, you can play 18, 9, 6 or just 3 holes and pay accordingly. Clubhouse has a terrific sports bar, where you can shoot pool or shoot the breeze while watching sports.

Blue Sky proved to be a very nice course! I was part of a foursome that went off early Sunday afternoon in very nice, albeit somewhat windy weather. The course was fun to play and somewhat challenging. I've heard several times how much nicer it is now compared to several years ago, greens and fairways were in decent shape. I will definitely play again!

Good course for the money, nice staff, and a 18 hole round of golf with good pace of play..(3:50) for our foursome.....Nice greens.......

The staff is very friendly.

Way overpriced for Jax. Still wet and muddy, it rained a week ago and it was a swamp.

The greens are spotty, approaches around the green are still barren, they cannot plant enough new grass since the place was downtrodden for 20 years.

The only good thing was $2 PBRs at the club house.

I have played this course since it first opened as Mill Cove back in the 80's. It has never been anywhere close to being in good condition until the Hampton Group took over. I had two TPC friends/Valley/Stadium Members join me at Blue Sky yesterday.

They could not believe the great improvements and stated Blue Sky was far better than the Valley course~! I know it is myself, because I am a Ex-member of the Valley course myself.

Besides the course being great so is the food and staff. To the Hampton Group I say thank you for saving a great local course. If you play the correct tee boxes for your handicap, this is a great course for all players.

I liked the layout, the 9th and 18th green finished at the clubhouse in full view of the clubhouse. Played as a twosome, 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours, nice all around. I fixed alot of ball marks on the greens, members need to fix there ball marks. Loved the fact that the course is on an airport with no houses and lots of small planes flying around. Nice views of aviation, golf and nature. I will be back for more.

I have played this course since it was started as Mill Cove. For over 20 years this course steadily went down hill. It has seen a remarkable turn around with the new owners. It is a crazy fun course for all levels of golfers if you play the correct tee boxes~!

Last May I shot even par. Today from the light blue tee box -2. The greens are coming around. I birdied 7 of 8 holes on the front side today. Golfers take advantage of one of Jax best golf deals in Blue Sky.

What a stunning change this course has gone through. We played it the day after Christmas ( Boxing Day ) in 2014 for the first time since it opened as Blue Sky. We played again the day after Christmas this year. It was neat to reflect back on the huge improvement to the condition of the course in the past 365 days. The greens are in great shape. The TeeBoxes were all redone this past summer and are great. The fairways have nice grass growing throughout all of the fairways. ( #1, #13, #9 were the ones that needed the most help ). They are now lush and beautiful. They really opened up the course with removal of overgrown trees around the course and pruning the live oaks. ( just look up #18 fairway from the clubhouse Windows ). The waste areas around the greens all have new grass growing around them and no dirt. The staff is super friendly! The layout is great. We played North Hampton the day after and the fairways and greens condition was almost identical ( just to show the comparison ). Blue Sky's tee boxes were in better shape.
