About
The Country Club of Mount Dora is a semi-private club located 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando in the hills of Lake County. The course was built by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design and opened in 1991 and features water on 16 of 18 holes, as well as raised greens and bunkers. The course is set on mature landscape and affords views of the nearby horse farms and lakes. The par-72 course features bermuda grass tees and greens, plus three tee boxes to choose from. The country club is also home to a clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts onsite.

Skill
Play with someone that knows the course. Lots of sand and 14 holes I I think have water. You might see an eagle, alligator lots of Egyptian ducks , bear, bobcat and finally the ruler of the course sand cranes. One must hit it straight and be on certain sides of the fairways to approach the par 5’s in regulation. One must use their entire bag when playing.

Course is in good shape some of the fairways are a little thin

Fun layout and good condition
Overall the course was in good condition, greens were rolling smooth and quick. I always enjoy playing here as the holes are unique and some you can hit driver and others a long iron or hybrid.

Fun Course to Play
I have always enjoyed playing this course. It is challenging and the greens were really fast but in great shape.

Bad Time
They had a Tournament going yet they booked us with no offer to replay at a different time. I’ll never play here again can’t believe how greedy some courses are.

Nice course, but.......
If the course knows there is a tournament the day you want to book a tee time, they should notify you. We were not able to finish 18 holes. When we got to the 10th hole, three other groups were in front of us. The cart person was filling their drink orders. You couldn't go ahead of them, because those holes were backed up also. By the time we reached the 16th hole we gave up. It had been over 5 hours!

First visit but not our last.
We been hearing the Cc of Mt. Dora a good course for a while now and we finally took the ride from north of Leesburg to play. We could not be happier. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and accommodating. We teed off right in time and cruised around in 3 1/2 hours. The greens were really fast and it took a couple of holes for our group ease into them but man the greens were sweet. A few of the tee boxes were a bit chewed up but there was plenty of space to tee up a ball. The fairways were really good. The sand traps were well maintained and very playable. At $65 I feel that it was well worth that fee, given the conditions we were presented with. I can find only two things to of issue and they are minor: First, the ride from #9 to #10 is really long (1/2 mile?) that was just odd to me. And second was that there were no snack or drinks available in the pro-shop at the turn, before the long trek to the 10th we had to go into the bar for a soda and snack. It seems to me that the pro shop could have something at the counter. The halfway house (1/4 mile from the 10th tee) was closed today so maybe normally was could have gotten something there if it were open. Those two very minor things aside we really enjoyed our day and we will definitely be back. SOON.

Course is in the best shape i can remember
Greens were smooth. Fairways were green withe few bare spots. Tee boxes were fine. Traps were raked.

Green were excellent and fast. Fairways were generally good. Unfortunately, a heavy rain the night before left the bunkers as packed wet sand. No fun.
The only bad mark was the ranger. Twice he told us we were out of position and needed to move up. The first time the group behind had to wait about 2 minutes on us when they caught us after we let a twosome through. The second time we were at least two shots ahead of the group behind. There was no excuse for that. He should have ignored the fact that we had lost contact with the group ahead (they played very fast) and focused on the fact that the group behind had also lost contact. Such rudeness is not good.
