About
The Country Club of Mount Dora is a semi-private club located 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando in the hills of Lake County. The course was built by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design and opened in 1991 and features water on 16 of 18 holes, as well as raised greens and bunkers. The course is set on mature landscape and affords views of the nearby horse farms and lakes. The par-72 course features bermuda grass tees and greens, plus three tee boxes to choose from. The country club is also home to a clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts onsite.

Greens
According to the staff, a recent ground freeze was the reason that the greens were poor. Bumpy and blotchy. The peach fuzz from the recent seeding stuck up higher than the dark turf. They were very slow. They do now look like they will be back anytime soon. If it wasn’t the freeze, they need to triple the amount of seed used on the greens when they refers. Tee boxes were not cut in a long time. No excuse for that.

I didn't play !! I watched the course and it was so overcrowded I would have been there all afternoon so I did not play. The course is my favorite.I lost my $10.00 reward AND cost of playing. Better luck next year Ha.

Good as always
The course is always in good condition. The course staff always works hard to keep the course in good condition, that is why we drive an hour to play here. The overseeing is coming in on the greens but they are still running at a decent speed and putting true. The fairways and rough are well cared for. The course layout is among the best in the area. We’ll be back.

Great Day
Greens are fast, fairways are soft and narrow. Tee off time was 42 degrees, therefore the course was not crowded, finished in 3:30. This course demands a straight ball, give it a try!

The course was in good shape but we had the misfortune to play behind a foursome that were very slow and hit from tees that were way to long for them. We ended up skipping a hole and went around them allowing us to play at a normal pace ... after that great!

The course was ok. The greens looked like they had done work to them and where very wet. The ball would plug anywhere it landed. Its a descent layout.

Really Nice Course
Everything at this course was well taken care of. The greens and fairways were very good this time of year. Greens a little faster than many, traps have good sand and are a good challenge. I' rate this course as one of the best in the area and is still at a reasonable price. The overall layout is also a good challenge at all levels of play.
