Royal Oaks Golf Club
About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Play it
Haven’t played this course for a while. Booked a tee time through Golf Now for a twosome at 10am.Pro shop paired us up with two other gentlemen, couldn’t have been nicer.Pace of play was good, just under 4 hours. The tee boxes were a little shaggy, fairways were very nice, rough was dormant Bermuda but not too hard to play from.Greens were a little sparse in spots but rolled true. Overall course conditions were very good. Very scenic course with Spanish moss covered oaks, doglegs and occasional water hazards. Plenty of drinking water but no beverage cart, cold beer after round though. Will definitely play this course again.
Fun course in very nice shape. Great value and a good challenge for your game.
Great course. Maintained well. Greens very good. Overall great deal and fun course.
Good course, terrible Ranger
Course condition was good, greens were fast, the problem is and why I will not play their anytime soon again is because of Ranger.
When the ranger comes up to your group half way down the fairway on the 1st hole and is lecturing on pace of play with absolutely no one on the tee box, once again 1st hole, needless to say he has no clue, our round started at 10:45 and 10.52 and ended before 3:00.
Great course for the price
As a hot deal, this course is fantastic. Not your typical Florida public course. Has plenty of trees and sand, but little water. Good fairways and greens.
Friendly Place to Play
This was my first booking through golfnow, and it couldn't have gone better. The pro shop staff were great, even to the extent of helping to pair me up with a member couple, giving me some female company to tee off with.
The greens were fine, fairways a little patchy.
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon.
Good day of golf
I play here quite often. The greens are still in good shape but the fairways are spars. Many bare spots lead to dirt lies with no grass under the ball. Hopefully the transition from rye to burmuda will happen quickly to help alleviate the problem.
Windy
The course was in good winter condition as was the weather. Winds at 25 to 45 mph made for a golfing experience worth remembering. The best news was the temperature which was above 80 degrees.
Florida Course
Nice course in good shape. Typical Florida, flat with a lot of sand traps and very little water. Welk maintained.
Overcast and chilly
An overcast, breezy chilly day on the course. Other than a few raindrops that was it. The course and greens were in good condition, the course was full of people so the pace could have been better, but it's snowbird season so that's not going to improve till at least the middle of May.
All in all a day of winter golf that I wouldn't have if I still lived up North.
nice golf course
I have not played here since last March. I was pleasantly surprised to find this course in great shape and greens were very good. Place of play a bit slow and it took us about 4.5 hours to finish. Really enjoyed playing here.
Great course tucked away in community. Fun track with many challenges. Greens very good. Good all around course..
Very nice conditions even though weather was chilly. Frost delay but were first off when course opened. Tracl on very good shape. Layout is fun. Staff was great. All in all a good day of golf.
Cold Day
We don't usually play in low 50 degree weather but the sun was out and it made up for the chilly wind. The course was in great shape, fairways and greens were just perfect. We're definitely coming back.
Good First Impression
Played Royal Oaks for the first time today and had a nice round with 3 great guys. We were all GolfNow clients and all thought the course was in great shape for off season. Greens were tight and rolled true. Tee boxes in good shape. Course layout classic parkland and offered a nice challenge. We had great weather and I suspect the course would have had more bite with some wind. Pace of play great with no one ahead of us. Facilities are great but no cart girl on a hot Sunday was a negative. When we got in at 5:00 the restaurant was closed and no one was around. A little disappointed I couldn’t grab a burger and beer after the round. Overall a good experience and I will be back. A definite recommend for the course
This course is in great shape .
This course has a good layout and variety of holes . Fairways , greens and bunkers in great shape .w.ill play here again
course conditions
As someone who plays everyday (weather permitting) I can appreciate when great effort is made to the maintenance of a golf course. Kudos to the staff at Royal Oaks for the wonderful job that is done. This year has been a real pleasure playing there Fairways and greens are great. Keep up the good work. I will continue to play there as much as possible Thank you for the experience
Beautiful course
