About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Good for afternoon play. A lot of residents play in morning. Always in good shape and pace of play is great as long as you tee off after 12.
Very nice condition
The course was in really great condition the greens are a little bit slow but they just recently aerated them so overall fantastic have a good day was a fun day of golf

My friends and I play here often, the course is in great condition, the staff is friendly and the price is usually fair.
Cow Pasture!
Neither Golf Now nor The Oaks mentioned anything about major airiation of the fairways and I mean major!!! There was equipment noise and workers all over the course and 2" spike holes with clods of dirt everywhere! I actually slipped and and fell on the fairway on an approach shot!

Nice conditions
They have kept this course in nice condition through the transition back to the summer grasses. A few tee boxes need grass. But the rest was good. They had just punched the fairways but it was still very enjoyable. . .

Great Parkland Golf Course layout. Pace of play on a Tuesday afternoon was quick. Starter let us go early. Clubhouse staff was very friendly. Condition of course was good even with the aeroification. Speed of greens was rolling about a 10 on stimpmeter. We enjoyed our round and will return!

Poor maintenance of greens and tees.
The course design and layout was fine, with lovely old trees framing the holes. However, the greens and tees were in poor shape. Even the practice green was damaged. I would not rush back to play unless the greens were in better repair.

I play this course regularly, always in good condition, usually not real busy.
Had a 1 PM tee time yesterday, arrived around 12:30, we were the only golfers there, played 18 and encountered 1 lone golfer.
Beautiful property
The layout and the old trees on the course are beautiful. The fairways are a little thin but the greens are in good shape. Definitely worth playing.
Royal Oaks
Played 5 courses this week and except for El Campeon this was the best of them all. Fairways had plenty of grass and greens rolled true and good speed. They need a little work on the tee boxes but otherwise have zero complaints.
Pleasantly Surprised
The course was in excellent condition (tees, fairways & greens). I've played many area courses and this rates very high among them in overall condition. I loved the layout. I could play this course daily and not get bored of it. What a pleasant surprise! Will be back real soon.
Great course
Play here usually twice a month when in Ocala. They have a relatively new guy in the pro shop who thinks he is the king with all the control that that implies. The rangers, starters, and all others are extremely nice. The course is a nice layout with a mixture of both long and short holes. The course is well maintained and normally the pace of play is always under 4 hours. It is well worth a drive over to play.
Great conditions and layout.
Love the course. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. However...is there always a however....every time we book through golf now we NEVER get off the first tee on time . We had a 12:00 tee time. At 12:00 there were two foursomes and a twosome waiting on the tee. It happens at this course every time we book a hot deal through golf now. Otherwise, we love the course.
