About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Course in excellent shape
fair ways in best shape have seen in last five years.
Greens in top shape for summer time no bad areas.
Pace play great.
Impressed
Booked RO through a hot deal and played it for $21 each. Course conditions were great...took a little while to dry out but overall great. Greens were firm but didn't roll no matter how hard I seemed to hit it. I would definitely go back!
Florida Course
Your normal Florida course, flat some sand traps no water to cross. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Greens were in good condition and had a nice roll.
Royal Oaks very nice course
I enjoy this course very much. It is especially nice on a hot day because it has lots of trees to seek and find shade from the sun...
A Great Layout
I loved this layout and the course was in pretty good shape despite the fact that they had just punched the greens about a week before I played. The greens were a little slow but putted true. The oak tree lined fairways are fairly wide open and don't present much of a problem off the tees. Water comes into play on one hole, the 18th.
The restaurant is not open on Monday's and the pace of play was a little slow as my twosome teed off behind three groups that were together. However, on the 10th hole the marshall offered to let us play the front nine again and then play the back nine when we were finished with the front nine. It was just too hot to play 27 holes so we declined his generous offer.
I've played other courses in the area of Royal Oaks and this course is the best maintained in the area. I would definitely recommend this Royal Oaks.
Nice course
Good layout... Pace was average lots of members playing.. Greens were ok... Got to use the whole bag of clubs was nice for a change
Nice place to play
Nice,well maintained course and friendly people . Not one complaint from me. Greens ,fairways,etc. in great shape.
Average friendly course
I'd give this course a 7 out of ten. When grading a course about 75% of what I care about is the quality of the Greens. These greens rolled at about a 9 but were extremely soft and actually plugged a few approach shots on the green. They were also a tad thin but for the most part rolled true.
The other big issue for me is price. This course was average price compared to the courses around it, but I definitely didn't feel like I was getting a steal.
Prob won't be back because this course was nothing special and I have plenty of courses closer to me of the same value. But if someone living in this area asked me if they should check it out Id send them their way.
Fun to play and good value.
This course was enjoyable to play for my first one of the 2015 season. Player friendly, but could be a challenge as well from the back tees.

location, location, location
Royal Oaks is a course that all levels of golfers can enjoy. Select a tee color that you are comfortable with and enjoy a good round. A few of the holes could be a challenge if you did not locate your tee shot for a decent approach to the green. The greens were fair and readable but some were covered with leaves to make the putting a real challenge. The overall layout is a benefit for the not so long hitters but can offer a challenge to the longer hitters from the back tees if they don't locate their tee shots.

This course is very user friendly and each hole was unique. The conditions were very good -- nice, generous fairways and the greens putted beautifully.

Course in great shape. Fairways were really excellent .Greens which are large were fast and very true. Enjoyed the round.
Nice but slow
Nice course but pace of play was almost 5 hours. Not sure if it was the players ahead of us or just that the course doesn't lend itself to quicker play. We did a lot of waiting.
