I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Good course and good people
I have play the course for over 30 years. I believe that it is the second bet course in Central Florida. My suggestion is that everyone avoid the course, don't want it to get over crowded you know!!
Great Golf course
This is an excellent golf course. As a local we play here a lot because it is in such good shape. The staff is friendly and all courses are kept in tip top condition. Heads off to the grounds crew.
Fairways are clean and weed free. Greens are fast
I am sure this course competes with Disney and it shows!
Where is the staff?
I had tee time 3:pm and when I arrived to the tee box on the first hole at the East Course were nine people on the tee box, yes nine people! One group was "just" late and they had five people at 3 o´clock tee time. No one of us had a scorecard in the cart so one guy went to the clubhouse to get scorecard for us all and ask about why we were five on 3 o´clock tee time. The staff told him to figure it out because they didn´t have a time to solve the problem and there was no starter available. I played alone and waited for every shot until the hole #12 when they let me through. This course is great, but this experience wasn´t what I expected.
Grand Cypress is Awesome!
First, the service is great: ProShop, cart-guys, starters, just very polite & professional. The ProShop offered a "bounce-back" coupon because the greens had recently been aeriated. They have healed nicely on East, but North & South not too bad, especially since I have such a poor putting stroke (what difference does it make for my score?). The course was empty on this Saturday afternoon, and we were interrupted by usual 4pm Thunderstorm, but no reason to complain. It's always a pleasure to play Grand Cypress, and GolfNow provides such great discounted rates. We certainly will return at first chance.
Quality course and staff
Greens punched one week ago but I knew that before I booked and did not affect enjoyment. This is a first
class resort and they treat you like that. Friendly rangers with cold towels on course and useful tips on how to play the course. I played in less than three hours decided to play another nine. I look forward to playing it again.
my favorite in orlando
conditions were great and I was able to complete each I ne in 90 min or less.
Good conditions, great greens!
The round played fast even though the course was busy. The course condition was good but the greens were fantastic.
One of my favorites in Orlando
Until today I had played all of the courses except for the East 9 which was just reopened Sunday after renovations this summer. The course expanded the size of the greens which was helpful in terms of being able to hit the green in regulation. The course is in great shape. Greens, tees and fairways were fantastic. The East 9 is definitely the most challenging in my opinion.
We also played the North 9 which is my least favorite of the 9's but never the less still fun. This 9 was in great condition as well. The greens on the North were very fast, faster than the East. I feel that the East and South have the most character. While I would recommend all of the courses at Grand Cypress, I would recommend the East/South first. All of the courses here are a must play.
Amazing course but facilities below standard
Amazing golf course and somewhat challenging greens. Staff is very kind. Pace was ok. Hiwever some facilities are below the standard you should expect from such a golf course: no gps on board and no cooler in the cart. Weird!!
Great place
First time playing the north/south courses. Really enjoyed it. Greens were along with the fairways and tees. Nice chance from the new course. Would definitely come back!
Very nice course
This was my first time playing the N/S courses. The course was in excellent condition from tees to greens. While I'm sure the pace of play can be slow at times, I had an 8:20am tee time on a Sunday morning and basically had the course to myself. Each hole presents a different challenge. I can't wait to play the other 9.
surprised its has had such good reviews
I called to check if the course was in good shape as so many have been aerated , I was told that whilst the new course had been aerated that n/s was playing great.
Well it was aerated too and just had more sand put in place. the greats were terrible and we had to take preferred lies on the greens.
The fairways too as patchy and a number of preferred lies had to be taken. I did complain to management and after a long ordeal was given a rain check.
I would try somewhere else for a while until it recovers.
The positive , it has a nice layout and because no one was there we flew around. But I can assume no one was there because of current condition.
Value Plus!!!!
Really nice course and facilities. Would play there again and again. Played the North/South combo, would love to play all three 9's. check your reservation, some times it gives you "all you can play" so you could play 27 for the price of 18!!!!
Great Course - Top 5 in Orlando as far as resort courses
First of all, Aeration on North, South, and East, as well as the New Course is running from 6/4/15 though Thursday 6/11/15.
Great course!
Pro shop staff was a bunch of younger males that were not very attentive or helpful; more worried about chatting with each other and people at the desk outside the pro shop. When I drove up, there was no valet, I had to unload my own bag, and park my car. I don't mind that normally, but you expect to see that at this type of course. Then, after I paid, I was not told how to get to where my clubs were or how to get to the first tee. They were all too busy catering to the "elite" people who were there for some junior tournament. It looked like Beverly Hills rolled in (ie. Orange County Housewives and Ken Dolls with kids who looked like they were being forced to play the game).
Anyway, after I got out on the course, it was AWESOME. The green are very fast. A few holes were extremely difficult with some very deep sand-traps and sloping greens and undulation on and around the green. Very good test of skill. Bring a few extra balls than you usually use.
Greens are PGA fast or even faster. The day I was there a fast green measured 15 on the Stimp and a slow green was 13.5. That is FAST!!! :-)
I loved it! Will return once greens and fairways heal from aeration.
On course water stations but be sure to fill up with ice and water. No coolers on carts like other resorts. No GPS units on carts either. Bring a laser or GPS unit - preferably both.
Disappointed
I was disappointed when arriving to find out there was a large tournament taking place and using all courses except for the East course. Was looking forward to playing the North and South courses. Instead had to play the East course twice. Was not given the option to come back another day.
Course is well maintained.
Meticulously maintained, friendly staff, and great value for the money if you can get a reduced rate.
Great conditions - but read the fine print.
Upon arriving we were told that only one of the nines was open for public play due to a tournament, and that we would have to play the nine twice. I checked and it was in the confirmation email fine print, but I don't recall seeing it when I booked the round. Also, we were told we could play as a threesome in the pro shop, but the starter paired us with a random fourth anyways. Course was in great shape and pace of play was better than expected, but the pairing and playing the same nine detracted from the experience.
Favorite course in town
This course is always immaculate. It's very challenging and not for beginners. Elevated greens surrounded by trouble, but provide many picturesque approach shots. Greens are very fast right now, but once we get some rains I assume they'll slow up a bit.
Great time
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was awesome. Definitely will play here EVERY time in Orlando.
Great course
always a great course... always kept up to the highest standards
I ran into the same problem today with the new course. I called and was never told it was aerated. No reviews showing this info either. extremely disappointed and pretty much wasted a day.
well , I thought calling and asking the course was the best way to get a review on current conditions....seems I was wrong....
I just posted that the N/S/W were all aerated like two reviews below your play date post. Didn't you believe me? :-)
