I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Island Green Photo submitted by BroncoBilly on 01/28/2013
Nice course, excellent staff.
Played the East and North courses.Course was in excellent codition, greens nice and consistent pace. Staff were first class, particularly the starter on the east course who went out of his way to pair me up with 3 other golfers. Pace of play was as good as anywhere i have played in Florida, round in under 4 hours. Will definitely play again.
Excellent golf experience
Played both the East/North and North/South courses on separate days. The condition of both courses was excellent. While the grass on the greens seemed a little thin, they rolled smoothly and were reasonably fast. Fairways and rough were in great shape. Typical of Nicklaus courses, they're reasonably generous off the tee, but very challenging approach shots. Errant approaches will be tested to save par, as the slopes can be severe and the greens are firm and quick. I didn't score well, but felt it was a fair test overall. If it's windy, play up a tee to give yourself a reasonable club into the greens. I would do that next time!
Cant miss!!
If you've not ever played at Grand Cypress, go out of your way to make it a priority. The Golf Now price we got was a no brainer.

WHAT CAN I SAY
ONCE AGAIN COURSE GREAT CONDITION WENT WITH A FREIND THATS NEVER BEEN THERE, HE LOVED IT WANTS TO GO ONCE A MONTH HAD A GREAT DAY.. IF YOU CANT GET RESIDENTS DEAL CAN BE A LITTLE PRICEY FOR YOU BUT WORTH EVERY DOLLAR.......
Great day
Played the North and East course. 3.5 hours to play starting at noon. Great courses in great shape. Staff was great. Free rental clubs if you are staying at the hotel.
Excellent - Classic Property / Didn't Disappoint
Over the years I've been fortunate enough to play all the "must play" courses in Orlando region (OCN; Four Seasons; Waldorf; etc). I just keep comparing them all to Grand Cypress. From the always amazing course conditions; to the greens that run fast and true, to the fairways (when you hit them - they can't help you with your swing) that tee the ball up just perfectly. Honestly just an excellent layout for all 27 holes which, when choosing the correct tees, will provide anyone with a strong challenge. On this day, the tees boxes were in great shape (play 36 total, which was S,E, E, N). Greens were fast and true and fairways allowed for great opportunities to challenge the challenging pin positions on the smallish greens. Loved the course as did my colleagues who had never played there.
It's a great facility and the People are Top Notch!
The course and the facilities are always some of the best in the region throughout the year. One of the things that brings me back is how you are treated. Everyone you encounter is just the friendliest you will encounter anywhere. We needed a rain check for the first day and at some places that can be a haggle based on the number of holes you played etcetera. Not here, they cheerfully took care of us and made a tee time for another day. That day they remembered us and welcomed us back. Great service all the way around.
Great condition
No balls on driving range when I went to warm up so never got to hit balls before I played. Unusually warm day went to get a glass of ice water and there were no cups to drink from. Course was in great conditions pace was good. Failed on the little things.
Enjoyed The Course
First ones off in the morning and enjoyed the round. Very well maintained. Very tough pin placements today. Some of the greens were a bit thin in grass coverage but nothing to be too concerned about. Fairways were awesome.
as always seems to be the case here, the staff wasn't very friendly.
Immaculate course let down by some of the staff and who they let play on the course
Fantastic layout in pristine condition and good value through GolfNow with unlimited golf. Course is very challenging, so we were very surprised to be held up on both our rounds by children hacking round. Young women in the pro shop was surly and the starter on the North course was useless - more interested in reading his newspaper than ensuring that groups got off on time.
Not for beginners
We played south/east which is the two best nine holes. Course is good but as hotel courses they made 27 holes in a land that was o.k. for 22 holes, so tight and narrow. Make sure your game is top chape before adventuring yourself.
Fair
Played there this week. Not bad place for the money, very slow play, too many people on it. Fairway ok, green is slow.
One of the best in the area.
Simply put, a great track, and always in shape. A must play here. #2 on the North is just fantastic (we've nicknamed it "volcano hole"). A pretty straight par 5, until your third. An uphill shot no matter the yardage to a tiny green that we first saw as a volcano. It's shaped like one, and, if you miss the green, it could be a card-wrecker (blow up hole).
They occasionally offer replays for $25, and you won't find a better deal. Even if you already have a 2nd tee time booked, staff will work with you if you'd like to get out earlier.
actually new course
I actually played the new course. Incredible condition, good pace of play. Love the layout lots of surprises from hidden shots. Very fast but true greens.
Doing Maintanence
Played East/North. Pace of play was 4 1/4 hrs for 18. Been coming here since the first year or two it opened. Greens were just worked on and were slow on the East Course. The North course's greens were in much better shape. Course was in transition for the upcoming "busy" season. Staff is always great!. LOVE coming here
Fantastic Golf Complex
Been playing this course often and it's always in great shape; it's challenging, the play moves along and the staff is professional and friendly.
Too slow
4.3hrs + behind a two ball is too slow
No course Marshall sighted until the 18th
Golf etiquette should prevail and we should have been let through on the 4 th hole but golf etiquette does not seem to apply in florida
Great course
This is more or less my home course so play it often. It is a reasonably challenging course with 45 holes including the new links course. By varying the combinations of North, South and East courses or the new course one gets a different challenge each time ... like playing three or four different courses. Grand Cypress is very well maintained and club house and restaurant are great. Just got all new carts but without GPS so bring your smart phone or range finder
Great condition
During the week, we played six different courses in the. Orlando area. This was in the best condition and the greens rolled fast and true. It was not busy in the early afternoon so we played as a twosome in about three and a half hours which was a bonus. We ran into a foursome at hole 12 but it was such a great environment, we didn't mind waiting a bit. We were surprised and a little disappointed that the carts did not have GPS.
