Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

My new favorite Orlando course!
Everything was top shelf. We played Waldorf Astoria the day before which is one of my favorite courses in the area. I must say the service and conditions at grand cypress were just as good and the layout was more enjoyable. #1 and 18 are St. Andrews replica holes and beautifully done.
The course is challenging due to the bunkering but the fairways are wide open so it's very fun.
Only negative feedback is they could use more signs to tell you were the next hole is located. It would also be nice to have GPS since some of the pins are hard to see from the box.
Best Course in the area
This course is in impeccable conditions. Played New Course which is quite diferrent and challenging. At times you feel like you are not in Florida.
Nice course
Nice course with Saint Andrews features and some very scenic holes. But pace of play very slow and no Rangers.
Not a huge fan
Maybe this course simply didn't suit my eye but it can be more of a frustrating course to play (albeit the first time) than it is enjoyable. Literally felt like I was looking into a HUGE cow pasture (although well manicured) from almost every teebox. There's very little definition of where your intended hole is designed to go. As a result you won't lost many balls if you hit the wrong fairway but it kind of gets tiresome. Greens were really nice conditioned (not a fan of the constant use of double greens) and fairway are definitely on the firm/tight side. They made the cart paths to appear "period correct" but they are annoyingly bumpy!! Would be in no hurry to play this track again.
Happy Customer
We played the St. Andrews replica links course. It was challenging in that we were used to all the deep bunkers, but otherwise wasn't difficult. Good way to practice before playing the real thing! High value for the round which included unlimited range balls. Clubhouse was beautiful and enjoyed our lunch with great service and food. Would love to play again.
Great course
Course outstanding -Gollfnow advisor Joe Carter really helpful in helping select courses for any ability. I have played many courses taking chances - With Carter your not taking any chances. This course is a must play
Great Course
Nice open layout, links style with lots of bunkers to catch you out.
Bumpy cart paths
Played the other courses last year in Grand Cypress and we don't remember the cart paths being as bumpy as the New course was yesterday. Our Water was going everywhere as we went from one hole to the next- and we were driving slow.
Course was a typical links course all holes very much the same. Some of the tee distances (ladies) didn't match up with the score card and if you avoided the many bunkers it was a pretty nothing hole. Green had sand on them but we're OK nevertheless
Good service from the lady in the cart with drinks etc but the crisps(chips) we brought we nearly a month out of date....
. Staff were very polite but I had to wait 5 or 6 mins while the guy in the pro shop was on the phone to get served - it was obviously a personal call as he was discussing his friends relationship.........
All in all I would not rush back to play this course although we may play the other courses as I felt they had more character
Grand Cypress; a true links course
Course was in very good condition. Greens ran true but, extremely fast. Course is wide open and looks easy until your perfect drive lands in one of those pot bunkers in the middle of the fairway. Avoid those and you score low. Hit them to many times and you will wonder why anyone likes links type courses.
Staff is, of course, top notch. Driving range facility and practice greens are great.
Not exactly what I expected.
Course was different. Shared greens, holes right next to each other, if you hit a bad shot you were able to hit out of the fairway along side of you back to your own fairway. course was in great condition. I know this course is modeled after The old St. Andrews course. Not one of my favorite courses in the area. I like links style courses, but I would recommend Royal St. Cloud golf links as a better course but that is my personal preference.
One of the best courses in central Florida
I played the new course it was a links course really fun great layout and everything was meticulously maintained in will definitely play again and put it under a must play central Florida course
Great Track
The New Course at GC is great. Very picturesque and a great layout. The greens were a little rough on a few holes, which is usually not what you see at GC, but it's hotter than Hades so I will give them a pass. The great thing about this course is that if you let a shot get away from you, you can make it up. You may be on an adjacent fairway, but you can still save par or bogey. This definitely keeps your head in the game the whole round. Love GC.
Love this course!
Course is wonderful as usual. My third time playing here. The greens were recently aerated, so was a little rough on the putting. Another week, and they will be back to perfect. The two rounds I played prior to this round the greens were as good as they get in Central Florida. Fairways are perfect and fairly wide open. But the greens are tricky and challenging.
Aug. Sept is green punching time
I really enjoyed the layout of this course. Designed to replicate St. Andrews, with better weather. The greens had been punched a couple weeks ago, so tough to make putts, especially within 6 feet. The staff was wonderful. the rest of the course is in great shape for Central Florida in September. Will definitely play again, in different time of the year.
First time checking out this 'links replica'.
Honestly did feel like I was as St. Andrews aside from it being 100 degrees in Florida summer. Great summer rate made it attractive. Course in excellent shape with greens given it is high summer. Amazingly hard bunkers and hazards that emulate links. Only disappointment is that fairways were not link style in that they didn't run as long and far as expected so really just ended up playing driver off the tee....excellent overall.
Always consistent
Grand Cypress has a standard and they always deliver.
Smooth quick greens.
Local Golfer
Great course - staff is friendly and the pace of play was excellent for a Saturday morning. Like the course.
You ranked the course poorly because it's built exactly like a links course is supposed to be built? That's like showing up at a traditional course and saying "not a fan of the single greens and trees"
