Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Slow play
The course is a once in a lifetime experience and a privilege to play. I wish management would realize this and treat all customers with the respect that the course deserves. We had to park in overflow parking. They said it was due to lunch time. When we drove up for our t time the starter told us they were sending out groups in between the normal 10 minute t times. Then they let off a 5 some directly in front of us.
New Course is Fantastic
Played this course with my son today...fairways are impeccable and greens are receiving, but not soft. Greens roll true and playing on a replica of St Andrews is a treat. I've played this course off and on for 20+ years and it's always in great shape and well worth the money. If you want to play on a course that the pros would love to play on, spend the money and play this course...you will not be disappointed!
Grand Cypress-New Course
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I got there about 1 hour and 15 minutes early. I hit some balls at the range and the starter let me out ahead of my original tee time. I went off as a single and didn't catch anybody for about 7 holes. A foursome that was a little bit slow let the 3 some ahead of me and myself play through. Pace of play was good. I thought the course was really cool. It reminded me of the Scottish links. The fairways were wide and undulated. They had some fairway bunkering that you might not see from where you were hitting from. There were mounds in front of some of the greens that kind of hindered your perception of where to hit. The greens were in great shape and rolled really true.
Would definitely play again
Grand Cypress was overall a fantastic experience. Complimentary valet parking. More of a clubhouse/country club feel than other resorts. I've never been to Scotland, but I think this course might give you a bit of a taste. Tightly mown fairways that were super wide. There was no/minimal rough in play. The greens were undulating and in great condition, and you had the ability to putt the ball from way off the green on some holes. The only bad thing was that the group in front of us should not have been playing that course; particularly on a Saturday. They probably extended our round by 90 minutes. That said, I would certainly play again
Great and fun golf course
The New Course is a very good layout, with exceptional conditioning. I enjoyed the bunkering and the greens. The ball rolled well and options when approaching the greens.
Only reason I can't give 5 stars is pace of play with the foursome in front of us hitting 2 & 3 balls off each tee even though the starter tried to get them to play the correct tees.
Outstanding facility.
A MUST VISIT.....
This was my second visit to this course (prev in Jan 15) and what a track this is - sublime from start to finish and what a tribute to St.Andrews. Course was absolutely immaculate in very respect - 5* for everything and worth every cent ! It's a fair test of golf if you can keep it straight but with huge fairways and some forward tees even the less talented should be able to enjoy this - don't forget the greens are super slick. Drive for show and putt for ......
Great Course
Staff was very friendly. Course was in great shape. Green rolled very fast and true. All together a great round.
Wide Fairways
The New Course at Grand Cypress is just 18 of the 45 Jack Nicklaus designed holes at this complex. It was designed with St Andrews in mind, although I can't really compare the two having never played St Andrews.
I can tell you that you will be unlikely to play a course with wider fairways than the New Course. There are a lot of bunkers, some in view and a large number of pot bunkers, very undulating fairways, and there are some very severe slopes on the quick greens. There's a little bit of water too, which is mainly in play via a stream that runs in front of a few of the greens.
The course itself was in wonderful condition from tee to the green, and with superb practise facilities and clubhouse Grand Cypress ticks all the boxes and more.
Totally recommended!
My favorite course in Florida!
We traveled down to Orlando to play golf and chose to play this course. It was extremely enjoyable and couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. The course was very playable, but trouble lurked on every shot. Conditions were excellent. The staff took care of the little details! The paths were marked very well. Can't wait to play it again. Will never come down to Orlando area to play golf and not play this course. Very, very nice.
Very Nice
Course was in very Good Condition.
Friendly Staff.
Overseeding greens and tee boxes while we played
We had to wait on most tee boxes and approach shots because they were seeding these the tee boxes and greens. Seemed to have an attitude that we were hindering their work
Not worth the money
Wonderful Course
This course is unique, in my opinion, in that it is both challenging and extremely fair. The fairways are wide and there are few forced carries, but the green are fast and undulating, and the pot bunkers can cost you a shot. So it's great for players of all skill levels.
Excellent Course
I have played here several times on all of the courses (54 holes). Course was in excellent shape. We originally had tee times for the New Course. When we arrived at tee, there was a backup of three groups. The starter asked us if we wanted to play the East Course (9 holes) first then come back and play the New Course. We obliged and by the time we finished the East 9, we were able to fly thru the 18 holes of the New Course. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Even though this is a private course, appreciate the management to allow a few public tee times. Definitely, in the top 3 of Orlando courses.
must play
Great course in great condition...excellent links style by Jack nicklaus
Always a good day at the New Course
The Grand Cypress New Course is always a favorite of mine. You show up knowing the course is going to be in good shape, and the nod to the Old Course at St. Andrews just makes for a fun day of golf. Very playable with open tee shots, and some green require exacting approach shots.
You'll definitely be glad you played it!
Great Day
The staff and facility are high end. No one in front or behind us. As you would expect, it is a replica of St. Andrews Old Course which was enjoyable. Little confusing at times getting from one hole to the next but it was very enjoyable. Would like to try the other Grand Cypress courses.
Grand Cypress New Course
The staff are great, the course was in excellent condition. They put sand traps right where I would hit my ball. Other than that it was great.
Fun Course
This is a very fun course to play. Putting on these greens is challenging. Very important to hit greens in the right position for putting.
Greens Punched
This is a fun course with a fantastic staff and a first class facility. . Greens were recently aerified and were very bumpy which is the only reason for the 4-STAR. Golf Now didn't show the usual notification so we paid the full resident rate assuming the course was good to go which it wasn't. I know this is something you'll run into this time of year, just would havebeen nice to know ahead of time. I'd expect the course to be very good again in a couple weeks.
Enjoyed our round today. Loved the replication of the home of golf. The course was in great shape. A tad slow for a Brit but we are on holiday! Will be back. This was the best course we played whilst we were here and we played quite a few. Well worth the money.
