Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

A little taste of Scottish golf. ...
The New Course at Grand Cypress is an outstanding facility, both course and practice areas. The Staff is very courteous and attentive. Our group was out in the afternoon and the weather was cool with gusty winds...A little taste of Scottish golf! The course was in impeccable condition as expected and was an excellent test of in every way possible. The greens are rather large with most sharing front 9 and back 9 flags. They were extremely quick...probably close to 12 on the stimp meter. This was awesome except due to their quickness, it caused significant delays on every tee box. A four - putt was not uncommon, thus adding an extra 90 minutes to our round. After finishing the 18th hole in near darkness, we completed our round in just under 6 hours...quite unacceptable to say the least. The course provided no Rangers to hurry play along, albeit the course and conditions added to the delays. Overall, the New Course is one of the best in Orlando and I would highly recommend playing it.
this course is always in great shape
We have played here many times and always have a great experience.
Still Great
I have played these courses since just after they opened, and was a member for over 12 years. They are still, in my opinion, in the top 5 in central Florida, including the private courses, and easily in the top 10 in the state. Even since the inclusion of Golf Now which has greatly increased play, the course is in top notch condition. The greens are slower than they used to be, and the guests aren't always mindful of fixing divots, raking bunkers or fixing ball marks, but with a little etiquette on the guest's part, this would soar right back to the top of the list.
Better the second time
Course was in impeccable condition especially the greens. Difficult the first time you play because several sand traps and water are not visible. The only indication of yardage markers are at 150 yards. No sprinklers are marked so you are on your own if you don't have a GPS.
Great for any golfer
Loved the course; it was open for golf ears that spray the ball in true links style; was a challenge to reach the greens to parr but reasonable. The fairways were lush and well kept, the greens in great shape but fast; and pins were sometimes in challenging locations. I will definitely be back. With the golfnow green fee it was well worth the money. I would play again tomorrow if I could!
Great place to play, but be ready!
I actually love this course, though this time we got bumped back almost thirty minutes. I booked the tee time a week in advance, then they pushed us behind three foursomes and we ended up not being able to finish due to darkness. Not cool, but very cool course, but not in the dark.
Links Course
Very different from the typical Florida course. Homage to St Andrews. In great shape. Plenty of driving room but pot bunkers everywhere. Crazy greens. Had lots of fun and will come back.
bring your short gsme
The trick to playing this course is to avoid the fairway pot bunkers, and bring your best short game. Jack Nicklaus places a premium on your approach shots. If you miss in the wrong spot you will have a tough 2-putt, or a difficult up and down.
Too wide open for me
The course was pretty to look at and the conditions were good but the wide open look was not that much like golf for me. When the fairway is 150 yards wide, that just seems excessive margin for error.
Nice Track
Nice greens and excellent service with a smile and though it's pricy it's worth it
Unique course - and fun to play
The wide open nature of this course and the number of bunkers make it different from pretty much anything else in Orlando - it's supposed to be modeled on the Old Course. Fairways are very bumpy with pot bunkers scattered throughout. They are wide enough that it's hard to miss them. Not much water. Course is in great condition. Greens are moderate in speed but well conditioned. All in all, a fun track to play. Staff was friendly and courteous.
A taste of St. Andrews
I have not been to Scotland to golf. This course provides (what I think) it would be like to play there. Very enjoyable!
Loved This Amazing Nicklaus-Designed Course
This course lived up to the hype -- with rolling fairways and pot bunkers symbolic of storied Scottish courses, and challenging yet fun greens. Pace of play meant some waiting, trying to play as a single on the back nine and dealing with a tightening. . .however, so understandable because there were a lot of golfers out to experience the same fun and thrills as was I. Next time I play this course I'll get paired up with other golfers, so we can establish a steady pace of play. There will be a 'next time' because I loved playing this Nicklaus-designed course! :-)
Very good track, but slow play is always a problem.
This is one of my favorite tracks to play. On windier days, the New Course is very challenging. The biggest downside is the pace of play. I have played here for 8 years, and regardless of the time of the day, I have to wait at every shot. Today, our group was the third off the tee in the morning and we finished in 4 hours and 40 minutes! Every round in the past 8 years have been like this.
Just fantastic
I played today with my wide and everything was just great. From we arrived all we met was great staff. The clubhouse including the lockerrooms and proshop were great. A good drivingrange and sort game areas. The New Course with it's 1st and 18th replica of St.Andrews was a nice touch. Not like playing the real thing that I did a couple of years age though.
All in all a vert nice experience
Different than typical FL golf
Wide fairways make this course suitable for variety of golfers. Main hazards are the deep pot bunkers (ala St. Andrews) and a few holes have fronting berms (water canals) - if you can avoid these you can score here. Course condition was excellent. Greens in great shape at moderate speed. Also excellent practice area. Very enjoyable experience, played for $75 on GN which is fair price.
average course
The golf course is average and not that challenging. The starter was obnoxious and hurried us to tee off, IM SURE GLAD HE DID BECAUSE WE WAITED EVERY SINGLE AFTER THAT!!!. No clubhouse at the turn and the place is overrated play somewhere else
Jeffrey, Montreal, Qc
One of the most beautiful and challenging courses I have ever played. Amazing condition. A GPS on the cart would be a great advantage and at least level the playing field.
Service was great both on and of the course. Catching a flight after the round, made use of the shower and locker room. Clean and first class.
Great course
Love this lay out. Fun and challenging. A great experience and must play.
Great Condition, Great Course!
New course is always in Great Condition and is my choice for a relaxing round of golf. Wide open fairways mean few lost balls and a great Scottish Links feel. A+
