Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

The Grandest Grand Cypress Course
The course was immaculate as usual.
Check-in was fast and no waiting.
Rain made little difference when a course is kept up as this course is.
This is my favorite!!!
YEP
I am a newer golfer ( 5 summers) and a woman. So, my review is unique. I found this course "easier" because of the lack of trees. Also, the rolling fairways were awesome for extended distance. I shot my best round ever.
Fantastic Orlando Experience!!!
My wife and I played the New Course at Grand Cypress for the first time this week while in Orlando for the holidays. What a fantastic experience! Great golf course...fun to play yet challenging, outstanding pace of play and great condition! Plus, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and inviting. If you get a chance to eat before or after your round, try the corn and crab chowder...you won't be disappointed! The New Course is a MUST PLAY for us every time we visit Orlando moving forward!
Gotta play it!!!
The New Course is a challenging but a doable and enjoyable round (even for the ladies). It is a links course which is an interesting change of play. A must play when visiting the Orlando area.
Was interesting
Not typically a links fan, but this was this was interesting and challenging. Probably need to play it more than once to truly appreciate.
Pretty neat!
This course, the New at Grand Cypress wasn't on our play list but we decided to give it a try anyway. From the moment we drove in the driveway we knew it was first class. After playing Cabot Links in Inverness Cabe Breton Nova Scotia earlier this year this was only the third time I have played a true links layout! It was spectacular from the layout to the condition of the fairways and greens, everything was in great shape for the time of year. The greens rolled true and we're just fast enough, the fairways weren't to tight and there was plenty of sand in the bunkers. The course itself was easy to navigate with great 360 degree views. The practice facilities were ok with a modest driving range but not much of a short game area at all. The clubhouse was magnificent and very clean. Not sure if I would play this track again but I'm eager to try one of the other courses on the property when I return to the area in the new year.
Look elsewhere
Boring layout, aging facility with substandard practice area and deteriorated cart paths. Clubhouse doesn't appear to have been refurbished in over 15 years. Overpriced for the experience.
A little taste of St. Andrews
Playing this course was truly worth the effort and thanks to a great deal from Golf now it fit into our budget for our recent golf trip to Orlando. It's not real a links course but hole #1 and #18 are almost identical to the holes on old course st.andrews.
Top quality golf experience
A great course great club and one of the best we have played in the orlando area. A must play course for anyone visiting the area who enjoys golf. A great feature is its replication of St andrews in Scotland. An excellent idea which demonstrates a huge amount of careful planning to try to create the experience. Even down to how the cart paths are shaped between holes.
Wide open fairways
Generous fairways with fantastic greens. True links style course with lots of rolling fairways and uneven lies. If windy good luck !
Sharpen your putting and short game. Best replay value.
Nice
I love this course. I will play it again many times.
une visite en ecosse
le new course nous transporte ailleurs merveilleux parcours
Excellent Facility as expected
We just played today. The North course is not too difficult where as the South course makes up for it with bunkers and tight fairways. Also there was more water on the South course. The greens were perfect. A little fast but the roll was perfect, with no hops and they were firm. The greens held an approach shot very well.
One of my favorites!
The course has such a unique style and is always immaculate. I've played several rounds here over the past 15 years and it's always great. My friends played here for their first time and all three agreed it was a great course and great value. You will not be disappointed.
It really is St Andrew's in Orlando
Having played in Scotland, I did not believe that this course could match the real thing. I was wrong.
Except for the turf (which cannot be matched), this was the closest I played to the Old Course at St Andrew's. Holes 1 and 18 have the burn, the Valley of Sin and the bridge and there are numerous double greens. There are undulating fairways and treacherous greens with not a tree in sight. (If the wind blow, this would be even tougher.) Just to top things off the bunkers are serious penalties if your shot finds one.
Finally, the layout is simple with modest tee markers. It was great.

Needs a ranger
The course was in very good condition, teed off at 11 and played the first 8 holes in a hour and a 20 minutes (3 golfers) we didn't have anyone ahead of us until we hit the 9th tee. The course is wide open to an errant tee ball, so we moved pretty quickly. We then proceeded to wait on every shot due to the course not having a roving marshal to make sure groups are allowing quicker players through. The total round took 4hrs and 10minutes! Luckily the course has ice and water dispensers along the way. However I feel the price tag on the course is a little on the high side.
Love this "links" course!
Played this course for the 2nd time and loved it even more than the first time. Nicklaus' homage to St. Andrews makes me appreciate links golf and its nuances. Starter provided excellent tips about the course. Got a hot deal for this course on Golfnow which made this experience even better! Will play this course any time I'm in Orlando.
Great Links type course
Course is in great shape, wide open fairways makes driving easy, and greens were receptive, but elevated and in some cases small--typical of a links course. Putting surface had recently been sanded and did affect the roll of many putts.
I will play it again, now that I know where to hit the ball.....
Beuatiful Course
Great shape. Great Services. Love the ice and water machines. Wide open!
