Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Makes you think
This is the first time I've played this course. Their are a number of bunkers scattered throughout this course. Being in the fairway is not a premium, but not being in pot bunkers is. The greens were like glass and very fast. This course is beautiful and I will definitely be back. Staff is courteous and very helpful. Go play!
The New course at Grand Cypress
I booked The New Course as a first time single to the resort. Grand Cypress found me a two-some and we got out ahead of a larger group that helped make the day even more enjoyable. Great course and resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to Grand Cypress.
Grand Cypress Resort - New Course
The course itself was in good condition. The only thing that knocked this from excellent to good was the greens had not quite recovered from being aerated. Staff was tremendous, as you would expect for a resort course. Cart girls and attendants with Ice Towels came around frequently. The discounted rate made the "punched" greens a minor issue.
Wow! Grand Cypress!!!!
I have wanted to play a course at Grand Cypress for years. I finally did it the other day and now can't wait to get back. Played Grand Cypress' New Course which ihas a lot of traits of Scotland's Ole Course at St Andrewd, right down to the jagged trails the carts traverse over. What a treat.
The course was immaculate as was the clubhouse. The pot bunkers, which litter the course were a nice treat, usually!
Fantastic!
Great course ! Everything from the fairways to the greens was perfect . Greens were smooth and running about a 10-11 . Bunkers in great shape course scenery and course character were outstanding . One of the top 3 courses in Or around Orlando .
People... Pay attention to course alerts !!
A friend of mine booked us a tee time on Golf Now at Grand Cypress New Course. He called and said it was a great deal but it had an aerification alert. Since both of us love to play the Grand Cypress courses, and with such a good price, we booked it anyway. When we got to the pro-shop to check in the guy in the pro-shop greeted us as he was starting to check in another man. The man said he had a golf now tee time and needed to check in. He asked if he wanted range balls and the man said they are always included with golf now. He explained that they was $5 a bag and that it doesn't say on golf now that they are included, well the man really got upset saying they are trying to take his money by falsely advertising on their website. The worker tried to explain that they don't run the golf now website, that it is ran by golf channel and he was sorry about the misunderstanding and he would go ahead and throw them in this time. Then the man asked if the course was in good shape, and the worker stated that the course had been aerified about three days ago and the greens would be a little bumpy and sandy. That sent the man into a frenzy. He was very loud and rude, saying that they were trying to cheat people that book on their website ( which again everyone should know that they don't run the site), because nowhere on the site does it say the word aerify. The man demanded him to show him where it states that about the course. The worker pulled up the golf now website and showed him the big A with the exclamation point in the box showing that the course has been aerified and that is why the price is cheaper and why he gets a $25 bounce back coupon to come back and play when there is better conditions. The man questioned how was he supposed to know that is what the A stood for, the worker kept apologizing but it did no good. Finally the man said a few bad choice words and went to go play. Then as we are at the practice green beside the first green, he goes off on the starter about how he would never be back to this course and they never told him when he checked in about the course conditions. The old starter just kept saying he was sorry and the man's group finally teed off.
I check all the alerts (big boxes in the tee time squares) to find out what is offered and conditions of the course when we book through golf now. It states on there to bring a copy of your booking (in case the course hadn't got the tee time from golf now), your tee time can be pushed back up to 20 minutes (don't see how that is really a big deal, a few more minutes on the practice green) and what comes with the tee time and any course conditions. We read that the first time we used the site, we have been pushed back a few times, but courses has also let us go out early too. This was the mans fault and the worker tried everything he could to accommodate him. Please if you are going to use this great site to take advantage of the pricing, read and understand the website before you go and act like this in public. Remember this is supposed to be a gentleman's game. Sorry I just had to say something on this matter.
Challenging and interesting.
Had a great day meet up with a canadan who plays of 6 .The course was nicely laid out and some of the holes were very challenging.Played 3 shots better than my handicap of 16 and lost on the 18 .
Wide open spaces
Plenty of room on most holes. Hit all but 2 fairways. For me to do that tells you how generous the fairways are. Just stay out of the bunkers. Greens and fairways were in great condition.
New July
Great layout and you can score if you hit to the right spots.
Another awesome afternoon at Grand Cypress
Seems like every time the security guard hands me my parking pass and opens the gate to enter Grand Cypress, I immediately know I made the right decision on where to spend my afternoon. Afternoons in the summertime here (when the rain stays away) are just about as close to perfect as you're going to find at any golf resort in Florida where "Stay & Play" is not required. The staff always openly welcomes me back upon check-in and I really feel like I have the place almost all to myself. That said, they don't ignore you. While I was very much isolated from a few other groups on the New Course, the woman driving the beverage cart knew I was out there and went out of her way to find me. Also, when I approached a traffic jam on a stretch of three holes, a staff member was right there endorsing my idea to skip a few holes ahead and come back to play those holes at the end of my round. He even saw me in the parking lot later and asked me if everything worked out. The New Course is so much fun to play and makes me laugh at many other Florida courses who claim to be "links style" in their design. To be honest, the fairways were a bit soggy (Why yes. I'd love to play "Lift, Clean & Cheat/Place"), which also meant that there was little to no rollout when driving off Par 4s or Par 5s. This did make the course play a club or two longer, but I had a good ball-striking round and embraced the challenge. As always, I look forward to coming back soon and playing as many of their 45 wonderful holes as the staff, weather and sunlight will allow.
this course was awesome
just a great course look wide open but the hidden sand trap will get u ,hardly ever have a flat lie ,and the fairway has thin lie, u have to hit down and take good size divit or u r dead
Magnificent
This is an awesome course. Designed after the Old Course in England by the great Jack Nicklaus. Awesome greens and fairways and perfectly manicured tee boxes. A must play course.
Well Maintained.
The course is exceptionally maintained. The fairways are great. The greens were a little slower than I expected. We were delayed by over 40 minutes from our scheduled tee time and the round played a bit slow as we had to wait on every shot. I wish the middle tees were a bit longer that 6100 yards.
Great course
The wind was up so it felt like we were playing at St. Andrews. This was an awesome place to play a fun round of golf.
nothing like St Andrews
Good course, horrible pace
Course is in great condition. Only course in Orlando with a links style layout. Very hot day (not their fault), but the ice machines were not working and they do not privide you with a cooler, so we were stuck drinking warm water on a really hot day. We pulled up to 18 and it began to rain so we did not finish, but at that point we were 5:15 minutes into our round.
They desperately need marshals at this course I agree...marshals? What are you doing exactly?
As nice as ever!
Challenging course in awesome shape. Plush and tight but not muddy. Play it now while it's "friendly". Mind the little bunkers next to the big ones. Ha!
Great day
Wonderful day. One of my favorite courses. Very forgiving and truly wnoyable
Favorite
This is where I go to treat myself. First day of vacation and a great rate on golf now . What a great day. Did I mention it was Open week. It doesn't get any better this.
Brilliant day out.
Holidaying nearby and decided that we would play the course if affordable. It had also been recommended by someone a week previously in Spain. We (my son and I) booked online and managed to get 18 holes for the same price you would pay in the UK for a very average course. The clubhouse is very friendly and the prices affordable. At the tee we were asked whether we would mind someone joining us to make a three ball, which we happily agreed to. Best decision of the day! A very nice gentleman by the name of Dave Kargetta who turned out to be not only great company but a great teacher too, helping me with a few suggestions on the way around. The course is stunning...difficult to believe a links course in central Florida, but its true. The greens were good, but could have been better. We were lucky with the weather, the heavens opening just as we made our way to the 19th. Would I go again? yes! Would I recommend it to friends? Most definitely.
Great Course, Nice Change of Pace
I really enjoyed my time on this course. It is links style, although in lush green Florida, it is impossible to have a true links. Either way, it was great fun. I played by myself on a Friday after noon and flew through the round. A few greens were still not all the way back from aerating, but it didn't affect my round.
Old Course in England? you balloon.
