Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Unbelievable Course
The New Course was an unbelievable experience. Immaculate course conditions and great layout. Can't wait to go back again soon.
Great links course
Like the links style...don't find many of that in Orlando...wide open (which is great for my slice), but still a decent challenge with all the pot bunkers around. Great feel for links golf!
Great Links Course in Orlando
If you are looking for a links experience in Orlando, Grand Cypress's New Course is the one for you. It is a close replication of St. Andrews. You can hit it anywhere and be okay. There are double greens, and pot bunkers. It can get windy out there so be prepared.
A-MAZING
Best course in Orlando (that i've played). It's completely open (scottish links course). It's nearly impossible to lose a ball or to find water, but 10 ft deep pot bunkers in places where they shouldnt be will severly effect your score. This course is awesome and there is nothing like it in town! MUST PLAY
Beware the Greens
Avid golfers are supposed to "love" the most difficult and challenging courses. Really? Want to shoot 95? Yes, it's a great course with wide fairways, but the defense is ridiculously sloped greens (ridiculous for the amateur IMHO).
Links style course
A fun to play links style course with wide open fairways but enough bunkers to get you in trouble if you're not accurate. Greens are quite challenging and provide the real teeth to the course.+
north/south course
great courses to play highly recommend to all players
Lots of fun, but not links golf
Great layout, wind is the defense for this course. Greens were PERFECT. Although designed as a style course this definitely does not play like a links course. Very little run in the fairways and the greens will hold pretty much any club you hit in.
Still, a very tough test of golf in the wind.
Wish the GPS offered a bit more information and was easier to see in the sunlight.
Worth the trip to play....
slow play the norm here.
This is a resort course, so foursomes of slow (slow cause they are bad) players are the norm. It is not a course where good players seek out. The ranger showed up on the 15th hole and instead of addressing the slow play of the foursome in front of us literally yelled at my son, a college player, for waiting to hit his second shot into a par 5. The course is very easy, the gimmicky draw being it is supposed to be a replica of the Old Course at St Andrews. You cannot use the practice facilities except for 45 minutes before your tee time not after you play unless you are a resort guest. Other than the young kids to work the cart room, bag drop and beverage cart the rest of the staff seemed uninterested and unmotivated in any of the golfers satisfaction. If you can get a $49 tee time fine . But if you ae a good player skip it.
Great for buddies trips and beginners
I recently moved to Orlando and have had the chance to get out to Grand Cypress for a few rounds. Big fan of the New Course, especially for beginners, occasional golfers, corporate outings and buddies trips. Wide open off the tee with subtle winks at the Old Course of St. Andrews (Is that the Swilcan Bridge? I'm I putting through the Valley of Sin?), I consider this course fun for 15+ handicaps.
A Taste of St. Andrews in Orlando
Playing this course was truly worth the effort and thanks to a great deal from Golf now it fit into our budget for our recent golf trip to Orlando.
Absolutely pristine conditions both on fairways and greens. If you like wide open spaces, you will love this course as it does reflect quite a bit of the Scottish feel - quite often makes more sense to putt 10 yards or even more off the green. It is also very forgiving, especially off the tee (see wide open spaces) but you need quality shots to the green to score - not so much forgiveness there!
Pace of play was slowed by a pro tournament we were following but we still finished in just over four hours. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
Of the south and east nines we also played at Grand Cypress, the new course stood out as memorable and one of our favourites of the trip.
My only complaint
my only cpmplaint is that i booked the new course and only got to play the back nine. The other nine was on the east
The course has great character.
One of the finest courses in the greater Orlando area I have played.
Wonderfull landscape
Played sevral courses in Florida , this course in my eyes under the top courses like " old corkscrew' + "Treviso Bay" in Naples. We played in a 4-flight. Everything was perfect and I will play again.
Regards from germany
Unique greens every green a double green.
The course was very nice but some of the hole were difficult to visualize. It is very important to watch the GPS when approaching the tee box so you can see the flyover of the hole to determine dog leg right or left.
Great Replica course!
we have played the Old Course at St Andrew's, and this course is very reminiscent of the Old Course. Great condition and well worth playing if you like a links style course.
The golf course is very beautiful
THere too many golfers on the course specially on double green.
too much talking on the green disturbing other golfers
suggest to improve the booking so we can enjoy the golf
too slow play, 6 hour round!
Booking rounds 10min apart is unacceptable. they should book 15 min apart. Every shot was a 10-15 min wait
Beautiful but too crowded
The course was in pristine condition. Fast, true greens. Bunkers were deep and numerous. Driving range had unlimited, free balls (a nice touch). I was warned by the starter that in order to finish in the daylight, I'd have to hustle. Unfortunately there's nothing I could do to compensate for the slow play of those around me. They allowed too many tee times and didn't make much effort to combine groups. I never saw a marshal. Ultimately I felt both spoiled by the great price and the beauty of the facility and felt like my round was spoiled by overbooked tee times. Not what I expected from a resort course.
Fantastic
The New Course has made it into my Top 5 in the Orlando area. Everything on the day I played was at or above expectation. The fairways were in excellent condition as were the greens, which rolled true at an average pace.
The layout is interesting and playable. If you get a chance give this course a try.
