The 18-hole River Bend Golf Club in Ormond Beach, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1990. Designed by Lloyd Clifton, River Bend Golf Club measures 6821 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 135 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
At River Bend, designer Lloyd Clifton achieved his ultimate goal -- a perfect blend of natural surroundings combined with a competitive and scenic golf course layout. With no home sites, River Bend is situated along the historic Tomoka River. Play among majestic oaks, red cedars, pines and magnolias. Each hole is unique. Hole No. 8 is a long par 5, 616 yards. Hole No. 17 is a picturesque 3 par. No water is featured. A definite must for those who enjoy a blend of competitive golf and nature's offerings.

Great day on the course
My friend and I played 9 holes on Sunday the day was wonderful and golf was pretty good. Course is in really good shape.
Cart paths need work.
weplated this course many times and it was verry pleasant
nov 12 we canclled our tee time because it over seed

First time this year playing. Greens little slow but due to over seeding. Course looks great. Price just right.

Slow play
This coarse is in very good conditions except the tee boxes which need a lot of work but I could live with that but the slow play was ridiculous no ranger there was at least 2 holes empty in front of the foursome in front of us yet no play through. 5 hrs to play 18 is just too long.

Friendly Staff
Golf course was average at best. The employees were friendly but we never saw the ranger in our 4 hour and 20 minute round.
Good Layout
Owned by the City of Ormond Beach...leased to private operator. Fairways, sand bunkers & greens is good shape. A good test due to the wind swirling in the trees on approach shots. Cart paths need help. Course Marshal on #2 told us it would be slow...two foursomes @ noon held up the whole course for afternoon play...never seen the course marshal again. 2-1/2 hours on the front nine...1 hr-40 minutes after numerous players quit @ the turn.
Good Layout
Owned by the City of Ormond Beach...contracted to private operator. Good challenging layout...the wind swirls through the trees making approach shots a guess...greens & fairways above average. Cart path issues in certain areas. One foursome held up the whole course...seen course ranger on #2....then never again. 4:20 minutes to play on Friday afternoon as a twosome..

This course is close by and fun to play.
I enjoy playing this course. It has some challenging elements but is still fun to play.
My bisect suggestion for improvement is to address the cart paths. Most holes have the "scatter" path, and that's ok. But most actual cart paths are in need of repair or replacement.
I still enjoy this course very much and will continue to play here.

good value, but course needs a bit of attention
played with my wife, course offers lots of variety, changes in elevation, most fairways were wide enough to give a generous landing area for errant tee shots.
the cart paths were in rough shape and in some areas just sandy tracks.
tee blocks were in need of some maintenance.
in spite of its shortcomings I would play there again, the variety of terrain and challenges, offset any of the issues mentioned.

Good Public Course
Course is in average to above average condition for area courses. Layout puts premium on straight shots, especially off tee. No homes along course so wooded appearance is a plus.

good course, great little layout
1st time playing this course interesting layout,fairways and greens were in great shape,tee boxes need a little work. Pace of play was a little slower than I like,but got hooked up with a couple of local gents who were regulars and made it a great day . great value for the, some very interesting holes . would play it again.

Dry shoes!
Every course in the area was wet enough to drown a frog but River Bend was dry and playable. The course isn't a $100 per round course but the layout is nice, the greens were punched but are in good condition and hey, it was dry. The staff is super friendly. I would recommend if you're in the area hitting this place up for a cheap round.

Fun course
Challenging yet fun course is always a pleasure to play ! Overall course conditions are very good, with some major work being needed on the tee boxes and some of the cart paths ! Played in the afternoon and the pace of play was very quick.

Nice greens
It's been nearly 15 years since I played River Bend and the course is aging gracefully. Nice greens with some challenging breaks. Fairways are in good shape but some tee boxes need a little attention. The bunkers were consistent and well maintained with a nice quality sand. As mentioned by others some cart paths with concrete need to be reworked and others could use some fill.
The food and service in the grill was excellent, and each staff member I met was very friendly and made a point to interact with me.
I would highly recommend this course and look forward to playing here again.

Reasonable
Other than slow play by the group in front of us, everything was okay. Cost/value/quality of course were pretty much what we expected. Relatively short course, but requires straight shots off the tee. Greens were in nice shape. Tees and fairways were in good shape, but not manicured conditions. Cart paths have some really rough areas and damage. Still a nice spot for an inexpensive round.
