The 18-hole River Bend Golf Club in Ormond Beach, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1990. Designed by Lloyd Clifton, River Bend Golf Club measures 6821 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 135 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
At River Bend, designer Lloyd Clifton achieved his ultimate goal -- a perfect blend of natural surroundings combined with a competitive and scenic golf course layout. With no home sites, River Bend is situated along the historic Tomoka River. Play among majestic oaks, red cedars, pines and magnolias. Each hole is unique. Hole No. 8 is a long par 5, 616 yards. Hole No. 17 is a picturesque 3 par. No water is featured. A definite must for those who enjoy a blend of competitive golf and nature's offerings.

River Bend
Course was okay but needed cart paths reworked. This would have helped out. As far as the course itself it was okay. Probably would play again if I were looking for a good deal.
challenging course
Good time met some great people. Course was in good condition. Challenging for pro's through the ladies tee's.

BEST COURSE IN THE AREA
River Bend is my favorite course in this area. We go to daytona beach each year for a week and we played here four days! Awesome course!

Course is in great shape. Greens are very fast. Lots of shade between holes. Will definitely return for another round.

Good Deal !
Always a good deal at River Bend. however, the greens were not in good shape but they do warn that they have been aerated.

Just a little rain
Usually you do not ask for rain. But this course is begging for it. Fun course but for the shape of the greens it should be cheaper. Certainly it will be fun when they return with good greens and normal size cups. Thought the large ones were a hoot at times. But seeing that River Bend is my favorite course I will always come back regardless. Staff by the way is very accomodating.

Poor greens poor cart paths
Course is not in good shape. Tee grass was sparce. Greens were very bad Need a lot of work. Cart paths were in deplorable condition. Bunkers were like concrete.

Ladies & Gents:
This place was a dump! The greens were a disaster. The fairways have no grass. I have played this course many times since my transplantation to the area & this was the worst I've experienced at River Bend. I would NOT play again for free. Lets face it, there are too many alternatives to play somewhere where NO TLC is given. Also, without course rangers it becomes total insanity out there. There are too many golfers who have no respect for the course and/or the game of golf. I makes for a horrible day!

Great Course
Great course a couple of the greens had some rough spots but for this time of year it is great shape beautiful in between holes nice layout of course. Nice that you have to shape some shots. Staff was very friendly and the cart girl was on her game always showed up at the right time

Returned to Play an Old Friend
My foursome hadn't played here in some years, but it was being welcomed back because the course was in the excellent shape it had always been. Green side bunkers need some sand, but hitting out was still OK. Greens need your focus and are challenging. Great day! There was some confusion with the invoice. I was charged $15.76 when I booked the tee time, but that wasn't considered when paying the green fees at the course. Is that a Golf Now booking fee?

The $15.76 is actually the transaction fee for the online booking and a 5% deposit for the advertised rate/tee time you reserved. GolfNow collects 5% of the total greens fee and whatever remains is what we collect at the course due to the agreement we have in place. Worth a Drive
One and a half hour drive north of my home but worth the drive. This IS carved out of the Florida landscape. Elevation shifts, narrow fairway shots and bends in the course make it a challenge. #8 and #14 are the most challenging. Stay straight. Front 9 seems to be less difficult than the back. If you are not in control off the tee with the driver - on this course play irons. Fairway woods can really be used on this course.

Have played a couple of times
This is the second time I played where I had to double back and play the first nine rather than wait behind others for the second nine. Nice course, friendly people , greens could be nicer, traps should have more sand but I got what I paid for.

River bend condition
First time playing this course, the greens are terribly in bad shape, barely has any grass,like putting on concrete. The fairways are not that good either,many bare spots. The layout is good, nice views,

Very nice course
This is a great golf course. Some holes are tight. Good variety of holes. I played here 1 week prior the course was in good shape but on this day the course was drying out .

Disappointment
Almost every other course in the area was booked this weekend with tournaments so we turned to this place for a "quick" round on Saturday. The facilities were awesome and we loved the cool cart paths between holes. The overall quality of the course was disappointing, my friend compared it to playing on slate. The course was rock hard and the balls would take vicious bounces in random directions because of it. The greens were the fastest that I've ever played, it was like putting on a sheet of glass. The greens weren't even well maintained, there were patches of bare dirt on several of the holes. They needed to aerate the greens so bad it wasn't even funny. All of the holes were laid out very similarly, straight with a fairway bunker on either side. Safe to say we won't be going back there anytime soon.

Fun Course in need of some repair
Fun and challenging River Bend needs some upgrades. Greens didn't look so good but they did play consistent and true. Cart paths can be dangerous in places. Fairways had some bare patches. We loved the layout - scenic and woodsy. Not a high class facility but lost of fun.

Course was in good shape greens were fast and true
Course was good staff was excellent. What I don't understand is the total in fees I paid. I have been a golf now member for years, and don't remember paying full price for fees
