19 & 1 at University Park Country Club

This time of year there’s not much play, but the course remains in top shape. Ken was very helpful mixing me in with some of the only other players on the course.

Only 17 holes open.

Range closed.

Short game area closed.

But worst part was the rude staff.

Hole number 1 closed. Had to play hole number two twice. Should have been noted on golf now when booked.

One of the nicest courses in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Greens held the ball and putted true. Definitely will be playing it again.

I paid for 18 holes I expect 18 not 17. If a course needs maintenance or repairs, I get it, but that you tell nobody until you ser a sign at the starter. That's a joke. I was looking forward to playing there, then got ripped off. Don't hide tell the people before they book that way they can decide to go play. Not you guys using the old "bait and switch" routine!!!

Always an excellent golf course despite drought conditions.

Paid for 18 holes only got 17 and not ever said before booking, during booking, during check in.

I get that maintenance is needed, bit to say nothing is like stealing. I want 18 holes. If I know before I book that maintenance is being done, I then make my decision to book or not. This is bs

I love the fact they are so protective of the course that it was cart path only because it was too dry in the fairways! The three nines are so different that you do need to change your strategy (especially 10-18) as risk/rewards are dramatically different than tees on 19-27 or 1-9. Overall a well designed and maintained course.

This course needs water badly. They are skimping on watering and it has affected the course to where it was cart path only because of the dryness of the course which I have never experienced. It was like walking on potato chips. I love this trek but until they adequately water, I won't be back.

I’ve played university several times over the years but the fairways were a bit brown because of the drought but the greens and tee boxes were in great condition,I will definitely play there again before we go home

It wasn't until we were at the starter we noticed we could only use the cart path.

The fall out from this was terrible.

We had to get out the cart from the path and walk across the fairway to our ball. Carrying several clubs as we could not accurately get distance from cart, sometimes being not too close to ball .

The dangerous part was it was almost 100 degrees. This became way too much walking from cart to ball .

One of the holes on the back nine was under construction so we paid for 18 and got 17!!

Had I known these facts at time of booking I would have spent my money elsewhere

We played here on 5/31. Although it hasn't rained in quite some time, it was 'Cart Path Only' - which made it a bit more challenging in the heat. I have played here many times and have always enjoyed the outing at University Park. This time it was much different. The course is in need of LOTS of water. Many of my shots from the fairway were from crispy brown, dried-out grass. The greens are in fairly good shape, but still were a bit bumpy from recent plugging. Overall, we were quite disappointed in the condition of the course, and the amount charged. I was surprised that they let the course deteriorate to that point. We will wait for quite a while before playing here again.
