Dry and sandy, but playable… Decent value with summer discount
Legacy may have been one of the elite courses in the Las Vegas valley in years past. Currently, it’s a little rough around the edges. This was my second time playing legacy, several months apart, and I didn’t see any improvement to speak of. Fairways were dry, the greens were more patchy sand than grass and the practice areas were in similar states.
I enjoy the layout of the course and played well considering the added difficulty when it came to putting. For $28 a round, I would recommend Legacy for a casual round.
Would Not Play
This course was in the worst condition that I’ve ever seen. It was barely playable. They were doing construction on the course greens were in terrible shape. Fairways were in bad shape. This was not the first time I played there, but it will be the last for a long time. This course needs a lot of work.
Goat Ranch
The fact you have to give one-star on these ratings is a travesty. This is not a golf course, this is a goat ranch. The holes don’t even have greens on them, let alone grass in the fairway. I know they claim it’s a water issue, but that course isn’t in disrepair because of a few days without water — that took some intentional neglect to make it that bad. An utter ridiculous prospect to have paid $71 for a round of “golf” with those conditions. Just close the place down if you can’t maintain it at even a basic level.
Worst course at the moment
Legacy used to be a nice course. Now the fairway is better than greens . I played nine holes and almost left after five holes. As it stands it’s better to go to the range than play legacy in current conditions.
Wait until end of year or beginning of next year
The conditions make this course barely playable. I’m not a good golfer, but watching putts jump 1-3 feet into the air because you’re playing on yellows and browns (instead of greens) is pretty frustrating. Maybe worth $10, but not $30. I’ll pay a little more and play a real round of golf. With that said, the views and layout are awesome! If the course were in good shape, this would be a very nice course!
Poor condition. Wait til the end of the year to play.
Poor condition.very little grass in the fairways and greens were dry and bumpy. Wait til the end of the year to play.
The golf course no good all the green is dry
Is no good the golf course is bad I will not going back
Dump
This course, once pretty good is now a DUMP. All the greens are very poor, the fairways are just as bad. MAJOR work is needed just to make the course average.
Total disrepair
The greens are hard, bumpy, diseased, unwatered and several have massive holes dug into them perhaps by wildlife. The fairways are nearly devoid of grass and are equally hard and dissatisfying. The sand traps are almost all hard packed with rocks. You pay $7 for 30 practice balls after you overpay by 2x on your round. I wouldn’t spend $15 at this place. It used to be good condition and good value but new management seems to have run this into the ground by raising rates and lowering quality. Funny thing is grounds crew was only working on things that don’t matter like fence line bushes nearly out of play.
Bad Timing
Poor overall rating is due to the course has an irrigation problem and hasn't watered the course in 10 days, and in 100+ degree weather it has really dried up the course badly. Course layout is great, and the Staff were very friendly, but everything was dry or dead from Tee box to Greens. Once the problem is fixed and the can start watering again, it will take several months to bring it back to par level.
Great Time
We enjoyed our early morning tee time, pace of play was a little behind due to a (100) person scramble. That didn’t matter , we enjoyed ourselves throughout the day. A ton of wildlife around the course , say some coyotes hanging out. Some of the greens were a little rough, we also understand it’s 100 degrees. David who is the one of the players assistant was awesome and showcased what true customer service is. Definitely will be returning !
Eh
I get it, it's summer. Felt deserted. Only saw 2 staff members and their personalities were bleh.. just another example of the wealthy refusing to take a nickel out of their pockets to make their place better. C'mon rich guy. U can staff more people and make it seem like u care about the public during the summer... yeah I live in phoenix and we know our courses who make summer golf enjoyable and the ones who don't.
Great layout. I can see this being absolutely wonderful in the fall. greens all sandy for summer (understandable) so putting was a challenge. No water containers on course. They do provide 2 water bottles in your ice chest.
Coin toss booking... wasn't horrible but not great. Played the GN Hot Deal. No way it's worth over $70 by any means.
Trying but a long way to go!
I’ve played this course a few times in the past and each time I’m always hoping they are on the path to make it the course it should be. It is a nice layout and has some challenging holes but the course condition makes every hole a challenge. There was progress on the tee boxes. The fairways are hit and miss but the grass is getting a little better. Biggest disappointment is the greens. They were terrible. Every green had multiple dead patches, some very large areas! They had dressed them a few days ago but that is not going to help the massive areas that were riddled with cancer. In a town that has so many other options of quality golf for the same price or maybe $20 more….choose wisely or be prepared to be disappointed.
I played on a Friday morning and the place was empty. That should tell you something. I’m probably done giving them another try.
