Lakes/Sunrise at Spanish Trail Country Club
About
Opened in 1984, Spanish Trail Country Club is one of Las Vegas' oldest golf courses. The club offers 27 holes divided into three unique nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire golf course is filled with tree-lined fairways, undulating hills, and sparkling lakes but each nine offers a distinct environment. The Lakes/Sunrise Course is the shortest of the three combinations at 6,957 yards. The aptly named Lakes nine has water coming into play on six holes. Golfers should be prepared for several forced carries as well as water guarding the greensides on five holes. The fifth hole on the Sunrise nine was ranked as one of the toughest holes on the PGA Tour back in the late 80s when the club hosted the Las Vegas Invitational. The back nine also has plenty of water, most notably on its signature final hole, which features a scenic waterfall.

Par 3 - Spanish Trail Photo submitted by Bissonpa on 11/26/2012
great course
this is one of three courses I played while on vacation in Vegas. The course and the staff were great. The only bad thing was the driving range was closed for overseeding and path only on the canyon course. Some tough pin placements made it a little more challenging. I will play here again next time in vegas.
Really nice course
Spanish Trails was a treat to play. There are 3 sets of 9 holes. I played the Lake and it did require some difficult shots over water and shot placement is critical on some holes. However, it was a beautiful course and I look forward to playing it again when I return to Las Vegas
Nice Layout
Played late in the summer for the course, they had started the overseeing and once done would be much better....Greens had what appeared to be worm mounds and distracted putts....Value was good....Course charges an added fee upon arrival for cart GPS, (no choice) water and use of range (which was ratty and had poor hitting areas)
One of Vegas favorites.
As you may know from reading my many reviews, I am a BIG fan of RTJ designed courses. Spanish Trail is a gem of one at that. The conditions are always great from tee to green, even in August..in Vegas...at 100 outside. That being said, for those who have not played the course, there are no disappointments. The design is tough, but very playable for all skill levels. That is the true genius of an RTJ course that some other designers don't fully consider. A 20 handicapper can play up a tee or two and have a great time, while the scratch golfer on the tips will find a solid test. This is and probably always will be in my top 3 for Vegas courses. "Nuff said"
Awesome time!
Course was in need of water, was a little dried out but other than that was great all around experience. The cart lady Ann was an absolute riot and made the day.
A must play
Greens were in great condition. Staff was great too, especially Shannon on the beverage cart.
Beautiful Course
Amazing course, great condition, club house and amenities are first class, would play this one again in a heartbeat.
The course is very nice.
This golf course is not for beginners, need a marshal to monitor the speed of play.
Spanish Trail
The course is a private course so when it appears on GolfNow jump on it! Excellent Course, a strong test. We Played the Combo tee boxes, and it was awesome!
The Player service team members even took the clubs out to my car and brought the keys back to me while I was in the bar!
Mansions everywhere
Nice course. I will be back.
Great course, great history.
Great staff, amenities, long pars. Great experience. course was in good shape. A gem on this side of Vegas!
A tour style course
Tee selection is important here as par threes can be well over 200 yds. Some par 4's will require tee shots over 275 yds to have a mid iron approach. The greens were super fast and true. Excellent conditions with an excellent staff. Didn't like hitting range balls from mats but they did allow access for no additional fee. Super golf experience here.
Too long of wait
I've made an appointment at 10am but were pushed back 20min and by the time I checked in to proshop had to wait another 40min. Very Poor managing of the tee times. Very unpleasant experience!!!!
Spanish Trail
Beautiful course, great setup and layout. Played from the white tees and only managed 2 brdies. Fifth time playing here, cayon then lakes.
This course has great water features
This course overall is pretty except for the washout ravines that have tons of garbage in them.... Not what you want to see when you are playing golf.....
Both Alenka cart girl and the girl in the snack shack
We're absolutely wonderful. Fantastic customer service from both of them
Overall a nice course
Not Worth It
Clubhouse staff is rude. Hidden costs not reported to GolfNow and they hold your tee time ransom until you pay. Course is not in good shape for the money.
Pete Dye Gem
Player friendly. No tricks
Above average course
Booked on a hot deal and was worth it, not sure what the going rate is. Layout was good, pace was excellent, course conditions were average. Fairways were in decent shape and greens had been punch/sanded recently but it wasn't horrible. After driving though the security check in/iron gates I was expecting a bit more. I would play here again on a hot deal
Cool day in Vegas
Picked a very cold day to play golf.......but that's golf. I have played Spanish Trails before. The course is very nice and challenging. I would recommend. My one criticism is a 5 dollar charge when we checked in. no mention by Golf Now. The Pro said it was for driving range and water.......This has never happened before.......
Maybe try a different day/time. This is a private club after all. My experience here was obviously 100% the opposite. These people were super accommodating and friendly. They actually asked would I
like to tee off early! I played at a pace that should be envied by any golfer. The pace that I wanted and was never pushed or slowed. I had time to appreciate the beautiful views and scenery of this excellent course. Very enjoyable.
