Lakes/Sunrise at Spanish Trail Country Club
About
Opened in 1984, Spanish Trail Country Club is one of Las Vegas' oldest golf courses. The club offers 27 holes divided into three unique nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire golf course is filled with tree-lined fairways, undulating hills, and sparkling lakes but each nine offers a distinct environment. The Lakes/Sunrise Course is the shortest of the three combinations at 6,957 yards. The aptly named Lakes nine has water coming into play on six holes. Golfers should be prepared for several forced carries as well as water guarding the greensides on five holes. The fifth hole on the Sunrise nine was ranked as one of the toughest holes on the PGA Tour back in the late 80s when the club hosted the Las Vegas Invitational. The back nine also has plenty of water, most notably on its signature final hole, which features a scenic waterfall.

Great golf course
Great course and experience.they have three 9holes, I played the lakes and the canyon. The lakes course was so beautiful. Recommend to anyone
Good value and great condition
The lakes course was much more challenging than the Sunrise 9 holes. Overall it is a great value. I would play there again and it's proximity to the strip make it very appealing.
It's very nice course.
the canyon course was in the dormant stage, but it played very nice and the Lakes course was in perfect condition. I would love to play this course again and I would definitely recommend this course to any player.
Winter get away
This was the second time playing the course, but played Sunrise instead of Canyons. All fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great condition for this time of the year. Pro-shop staff was excellent and helped to get us on earlier and to play Sunrise instead of Canyons. We played just as a twosome. Pace of play on Lakes was good. Pace of play on Sunrise was excellent, there was no one in front of us.
Winter get away
Played Canyons and Lakes. Fairways on Canyons were fair, the grass was dormant a the time, but the tee boxes and greens were in good condition. Lakes fairways, tee boxes and greens were all in great condition for this time of the year. Driving range and putting greens were in good condition. Clubhouse and restaurant was great.
Don't Bother
Course was dead grass. Pace of play was terrible. You get what you pay for.
No overseed for Canyon
Using Golfnow 4 times, and always told to play Sunrise/Canyon. Pro Shop seems to always assign Golfnow tee times to Sunrise/Canyon, and not playing Lakes, which is better than Canyon.
Championship golf
This course will test your game. Beautiful views, memorable holes with some forced carries. Sand is good, the rough not too bad. I love this place... Will return!
Very very challenging course
The course was great the canyon 9 was brown but the greens and tee boxes were green and in great shape. The lakes 9 has great scenery and in beautiful shape. Definitely would recommend and play it again.
COLD FEELING
STARTER WAS IN PRO SHOP AND VERY BUSINESS LIKE,SLIGHTLY SNOBBY.TOLD US TWO WE WERE PAIRED UP WITH ANOTHER 2 SOME.WHEN OUR TEE TIME CAME UP A FEMALE VOICE SAID THE 2 SOME THAT WE WEERE SPOSED TO PLAY WITH AND A SINGLE...WE WENT INTO PRO SHOP AND HE WAS GONE AND A LADY SAID WE CAN GO NOW IF WE WANT AS A TWO SOME...THE PLACE LOOKED DEAD AND COLD,THE CANYON WAS NOT OVER SEEDED WITH RYE.NOT IMPRESSED FOR AN EXCLUSIVE COURSE.
this course was nice
Everyone there were very professional and helpful.
Good and B
I didn't hear the PA announce my time. I was a single and as a first time player at the course I didn't want to go out as a single (especially because I expected a moderate pace with all foursomes going out. There was no starter so the threesome that I was hooked up with left without knowing that I was to join them. In other words, poor communication. I did join two wonderful tourist couples who didn't know the course either, but allowed me to play with them as a fifth. We did maintain pace of play!
Lakes 9 hole course was over seeded with rye and played very well. The Desert course was dormant Bermuda. Less than wonderful
Was ok not great
Course was in ok shape and greens were Inconsistent . Had a turkey sandwich at the turn and was sick in a matter of 30 minutes after. Beverages were way over priced . 7 dollars for a coors light in a can is insane.
Street of Dreams!
Amazing trek through a neighborhood of some really neat homes and town homes. Interesting variety of architecture, some quite strange. There must also be a middle eastern community from the looks of it.
One hole plays like a stadium with houses and town homes looming all 4 sides, with a spectacular waterfall in the middle. Another like a European fishing village. Lots of fun!
Slow help in the bar and restaurant.
thanks for the opportunity to play there!
Canyon Lakes
Played Canyon first it was being seeded so conditions were Brown. Played in little over a hour by myself. It's hard for me to review since it was being seeded, but the layout was good. The Lakes on the other hand lived up to it's reputation. Almost every hole had at least one water hazard. I must admit I donated 2 balls to the hazards (mishits). If you like to be surrounded by condo's, houses, etc. then this course is for you. Personally I prefer wildlife.
great course
beautiful course, would definitely do it again. Canyon Course Fairways, burned up, but lakes course is beautiful.
Execelent course in city area!
We played Sunrise and Canyon course. Both are good! I will go play again.
Nice design by Robert Trend Jones.
The 9 holes at Lakes are beautiful. The 9 holes at Canyon are dry.
the Canyon Course was in poor condition
The canyon course was totally brown except the tee deck and green course conditions is poor but the Lakes is very good that's make up for it
One of the best
Always love to play there. No crowd and good pace.
