About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Golfer Reviews
Challenging Course
Loved the challenge and very tough target golf layout. Definitely for the intermediate or above players unless you don't mind losing a few balls. Very tight fairways, water and huge deep bunkers come into play throughout the track strategically placed for anyone off their A game or trying to hit farther than they should off tee boxes or second shots. Love Pete Dye courses and he definitely through anything he could think of on this course. Greens were winter conditions and bent grass mix helped slow down areas when you needed help. Definitely going back again. Course conditions were decent for the price and Rumors are course will be removed within two years. I hope not. Can you take out Legacy instead? :)
Desert pines
I shot a 78 from the tips so happy.
The course underwent a renovation in summer so for the most part the course, fairways greens are in good shape.
It is a Pete Dye design so lot of visually challenging hazards, natural areas and undulating greens
Course is not long at 6200 from the tips.
Great value for money with mostly rounds under 4 hours.
Philadelphia area players
Loved this course, got great deal on Groupon but the club rentals were a little high. Desert pines did provide the latest Calloway maverick set in the rentals so it's understandable for the rental prices. Overall great little course about 10min from the strip, 5min from Fremont Street hotels in a uber or Lfyt. I will definitely recommend this course. Small course can be played in 4hrs! Great for someone on a short stay.
A Great Place to Play
First time playing this course. Course was in very good condition…for winter conditions. Fairways were good, greens held well and were very fast. Greens are large and have lots of undulations, which makes putting very interesting. Playing the first time I found some tee shots were tricky, not knowing exactly where to place the tee shot. Overall this was a great time on a fun/challenging course. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Vegas Golf Outing
Had a real fun time playing at Desert Pines with my wife and two really cool guys who were in Las Vegas as well. The course was medium length off the white tees and fairway condition was good, the greens had a lot of challenging undulations that required careful reads. I sank a 68 foot up then downhill birdie on hole no 12 that was really fun. The starter and staff were very nice and the nice covered range was included for a quick warmup. Good mix of water holes and blind shots into greens made for increased challenge.

Good Course, enjoyed it.
Good course, good design. Pace was pretty good (4:10). Lots of different shot designs and options off the tee. Made for some good thinking to get around.
Tee blocks not flat, searching for decent teeing spots. Ball marks on greens was a huge issue. Found myself repairing 10+ Ball marks per green.

Course conditions and price.
First time playing this course and paid $109. Online.
This course is not worth $35. Weekdays or weekends.
Dead grass all fairway and the greens are all in bad shape. Constructions along the sides and freeway noise so close to the courses.
It doesn’t looks like in the website.
Disappointed and wasted $.
Way Too Many People
It’s beyond rare when I give a poor rating of a course. A lot has to happen for me to do so, but I had to in this case. I took my dad here for his 60th birthday this past weekend, and nothing went well. The course was beyond packed because they’re trying to squeeze so many people on in one day due to less sunlight and they need the money. Not being petty, but i have no idea where the money is going because the course conditions were also pretty poor.
The worse part was the course marshall breathing down your neck after every shot. He follows behind you and if you’re not on the green in less than two seconds he’ll come up and ask you to skip the hole or have people behind you play through. I completely understand keeping pace of play, but the way he went about it was terrible and being very harsh and mean the entire time giving us orders.
We only got through 14 holes because of the course marshall making us stop and letting groups of 2s play through. We had to stop for roughly 45 minutes waiting for groups to keep playing through because they were all so back-to-back and crammed. If you have any people who may take a bit longer to get to the hole, definitely don’t choose here because of how groups they cram on in one day to make as much money as possible.
Decent for the amount of play
Good track but a little “rough” around the edges. The guy working the range was a little strange. A little like a bathroom attendant. A little off-putting.
