Desert Pines Golf Club
About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Great Holiday Round
Course was completely empty.
Condition was average considering the season.
Hoping everything "greens up" soon.
Thanks for your rating, shimgaewon. We appreciate your support and are always looking to improve. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, feel free to share. Your experience matters to us! - Elijah G. - General Manager
Course is always fun, obviously with the weather there's usually frost delays so it slowed down pace but that's expected. Also greens and fairways were OK obviously with the weather you can't expect luscious green grass this time of year. only gripe I have is bunkers need some work. A couple of them had like a tarp under the sand coming up but overall enjoyable this course will stay in my rotation until it closes.
Thank you for your thoughtful review, qMe8cBRfhHnHD4Hd2LEn! We’re glad you had a fun experience despite the weather challenges. We appreciate your feedback on the bunkers and will look into improvements. It’s great to hear our course is in your rotation! Elijah G. - General Manager

Désert Pines is a fair golf course, great layout. We had a great time.

Just criminal to charge what they do
Just a dump now. Course is 90% brown. Couple holes look like an excavator went through them. Greens are dead. The course is shutting down soon for housing and they are just greedy. Sort of a waste to even write a review, they won't change anything. Sure the developers have cut off funding for maintenance since it's closing. Just warning all you out of staters.
Hi Tripp84, we appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. We're currently working on improvements and addressing maintenance issues. Your input is valuable as we strive to enhance the experience for all our guests. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Elijah G. - General Manager

One of the best
One of the better courses in Vegas that’s still left. Practice center is top notch. Staff and crew were all there excellent and friendly. I want to play here as often as I can.

Profits over pace
Common theme across las vegas arcis managed courses is poor pace. Its a shame that there will never be an improvement of pace. Why???
1. Profit comes first
2. Pace improvements conflict revenue goal
3. Reactive not proactive
4. Competitive pressure not strong
Fact is that arcis has the local las vegas economy by the throat, and they don't have to change. If every golfer who plays low cost courses decided to take their business for a month to aliante, the club at sunrise, durango hills, north las vegas municipal, stallion mountain, or desert willow.... perhaps they would implement change.
Brutal truth:
The Arcis group operates as a for-profit business, and improving pace-of-play is only a priority if it directly impacts their bottom line. Unless golfers demand changes—either by providing feedback, leaving negative reviews, or playing elsewhere—significant improvements are unlikely. The unfortunate truth is that as long as courses remain profitable, pace-of-play issues will likely remain secondary to revenue generation.
Complain all you want but nothing sparks change for businesses like a loss of revenue.

What happened?
It's a budget course that attracts budget golfers (hacks) and no longer cares about maintenance since it's going to become housing projects in the near future.
There's no starter which means you have groups that miss their tee time, show up 20+ minutes late, then cut the groups that are waiting for their time slot, backing up the course. There's people who show up early and go off when they want, because there's no one telling them they can't.
The tee times are only spaced out 8 minutes, it took 2.5 hours to make the turn. We waited every tee box, every shot. There's no GPS on carts or monitoring of what people do on the course, so people end up making groups of whatever size they want and holding up the course.
Played here a few months ago, course was empty conditions were good. Carts have been upgraded since then, new seat cushions. But the course conditions have deteriorated. Fairways were spotty, greens had several spots without grass. Greens were soft which was good. The course layout is outstanding but it doesn't want to be a golf course anymore.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, u314161622535. We truly appreciate your feedback. We're actively working on improving the pace of play and course conditions. Your insights help us understand where we can do better, and we hope to enhance your experience in the future. Elijah G. - General Manager

A bit overpriced for the condition.
I play all over America, Canada and in the Caribbean and this course should cost no more than $65-70 per person. I think it must be the dormant season because it wasn’t overly grassy.
Hi u431168734, we appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns about pricing and course conditions. Our team works hard to maintain quality, and your insights help us improve. We hope to provide you with a better experience on your next visit! Elijah G. - General Manager

Non resident rate too high
Too expensive for the non resident. Non resident rates are too high.

Sewer issue
Place smells so terrible in the restaurant
They have a sewer issue
The course is run down
Trash littered
It’s has so much potential though
