Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

I like the course but hate the pace of play.

Staff was friendly and we got out on time. I was looking forward to playing this Pete Dye course and it was a nice layout. Then the nightmare started. We were waiting on every tee box and fairway. It was crazy. Foursome on the green, foursome on the fairway, foursome on the tee box, foursome waiting to get on the box, and another foursome stacked behind them. The out of town doctors we were playing with just gave up on the turn, We continued until the 14th and called it quits.

On a layover, and needed to itch a golf scratch. Course played fast but guys in front of us played slow. With overdevelopment of Las Vegas golf courses are disappearing and Thomson rounds get shared by remaining courses.

This course is kept up. Driving range is a bit hard to figure out. Make sure and buy credits if you need to hit balls ahead of time.

Need to trim the grass

For some reason the grass on the edges are long need to get cut. Also the putting greens are full of divot marks. Maybe they are getting ready to be seeded. But overall threcourse were ok.

Close to the strip but the course has seen better days. Trash on the course and even in the ponds. Uneven tee boxes and weeds in and around the bunkers. Fairways and greens in great shape.

Too expensive for the condition

The course was more than $100 each and the greens were super rough in spots. The fairways could use some TLC. I realize that it is Vegas and it is summer because I work in a similar climate at a golf course. However, the cost was not worth the product and service which was "mediocre golf"

First off,Greg in the pro shop is a great guy. Very friendly and always helpful. The new golf carts are awesome. Set up for bluetooth, very comfortable and they really move. Considering the heat wave Vegas has been through. The course is in very good shape. Some of the bunkers could use some TLC. And some of the drains on the course need to be fixed. All in all it's always a fun time there. Thanks Greg,and the Desert Pines staff.

A Hidden Gem 💎 in Vegas

This course is located north east of Las Vegas and I am absolutely flabbergasted how nice the people there. The staff Greg the Director of Golf was so helpful. This golf course is an absolute gem. It's like you're not even in Las Vegas. The course layout is beautiful. The greens were absolutely perfect. The fairways are perfect. This course is a must go to the golf carts alone are like driving Cadillacs. They're amazing best golf carts in Vegas by far. I can't express how awesome this place is definitely going to golf there more often Desert Pines Golf Course has to be one of the best courses in Vegas for the price absolutely amazing.

I played here a few times before and will continue to come back. The course does have some drainage issues and a couple of spots where burned out. While unsightly, they did not take away from the actual golf. The nine holes I played (left early due to heat) were worth the Resident rate I paid.

I would like to suggest to management that the parking lot is too sun exposed, Maybe sacrifice a few spaces and install some shade trees or solar parking covers.

Lux Carts!

It was my first time playing here and the first thing I remarked on was the beautiful and lux carts. I recently saw on the Desert Pines IG page that these were a new feature so I’m glad I was able to try them out.. The carts felt so lux and plush and were as comfortable as they looked!

The course itself was well maintained. The layout was very curvy and bendy. A few times it was difficult for me to decipher if another group was in my fairway.

I’d definitely play this course again as some of the holes were unique. I’d like to go back and give their driving range a try as well.
