Well maintained older layabout.
Great deals on beer.
Great course but slow play
The course is great and everything in good condition. The day I played it was very slow and its seems that no one was taking care of it. Therefore the overall ratings is only average
This course and facilities are worthwhile.
I have always enjoyed playing Angel Park, the course is great and the staff are courteous, friendly, and willing to help. Holidays can be busy and the pace of play is a little constrained, but overall another good experience playing the palm course. I look forward to another round soon.
Great condition
Fairways and greens in great condition every time we play. A little high rate the for me but worth the price.
Very fun course
I was in town visiting family and decided to give this course a try. Overall it is a fairly short course with several tee boxes for golfers of all skill levels. The course was in excellent condition and I would definitely recommend
Horrible conditions
I don’t understand why others have rated this course high. It has the worst greens I’ve ever seen on a golf course. Bumpy, blotchy, almost unplayable. Plus the out of town ER rate is insanely expensive for a course in this condition. AVOID
Worth Going Back
Very helpful staff. good layout for the average golfer (10 to 20 hcp). Greens faster than they appear. Driving range teeing surface is out of date and needs an up-grade,
A layout anyone can tip out
As a 10-handicap, I never go back to the tips -- ever. But I did on the Palm course, and I don't regret it a bit. The par-70 layout was fun and forgiving from the 6,500-yard back tees. The scariest shots were the carries on several of the long par-3s, either over water or desert gullies.
Although you're in the middle of a high-traffic area, it never felt that way. The holes feel sheltered and secluded from the outside world and one another.
The conditions after the overseeding were mint.
I lost my match, but I didn't even really care. Angel Park was a cool place, and I can't wait to experience more golf there - the lighted par-3 course, the all-grass putting course and the Mountain course. There's lots to enjoy.
Awesome Rounds
First of all, staff was very welcoming and accommodating from the pro-shop to the cart boys, starter and restaurant.
The course was in great condition and offers the right challenge and fun for a female golfer.
The complex was amazing, I was able to actually have 2 relaxing rounds with a great lunch in between. And even a little time to practice my putting later on as it was lighted. Will definitely come back when I am back in Vegas
September overseed complete- Enjoy!
Angel Park Palm is the easier of the two Angel Park courses. It's a par-70 (3 par-5s, 5 par-3s), a shorter course, but always a fun day welcomes you with wide fairways, over-water or canyons par 3s and a few tricky greens (Hint: remember to look for the Stratosphere to factor in a little downhill break to the East). You'll start with what can be a nasty dogleg-left hole with OB all the way down on the left side and follow with a long par-3 that plays uphill more than you may think... but after that the course becomes much easier. The 9th has a lake on the left that will gobble up any ball hit close to the 10-yard bank framing it and the 10th can be a brute with a long uphill approach, but there are quite a number of possible birdie holes, too. Altogether it's a pleasant, friendly and fun desert layout. The overseeding is finished, so although you may have to clean some mud off your ball for a week or two still, the course is as pretty as it gets and will be shortly be a great place to play for a family/friends day. Likewise for the greens- a little slow and bumpy after the overseed, but in a week or so expect them to be perfect again. They've done a great job fixing the bunkers, too. Because of the wind we get here in Vegas, many of them had been scoured clean of sand and it was easy to "drop-kick" your ball from the hard-as-concrete bottoms way over the greens for awhile, but although they're still somewhat on the hard side, they're very playable- just go a little steeper and a touch harder to get the ball out and on. For those seeking a more challenging layout, head for the Mountain Course on the same property.
Palm course review
Got there early for my round and hit some balls at the range. Be advised the range is mat only, but the mats seem to be pretty high quality and I had no issues hitting off them. There is also a huge practice chipping area and 2 putting greens near the clubhouse.
Today it was really windy, which made the course more challenging to say the least. I've played 4 courses so far since moving to Vegas, and this one was by far the best designed. Many interesting hole designs and there is actually some significant elevation changes as well which was a surprise.
Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent condition. The one area of concern is the greens. They were somewhat bumpy and it looks like a few spots they looked burned out. Overall though it wasnt detracting to the point where it was affecting my game.
Another good thing about this course is there isnt too much OB that comes into play. Of course there is the usual desert waste areas and a few water features as well.
None of the holes are really that difficult per se (except for #10 which was playing 439 into a 15mph wind), but if you hit it in the wrong spot you will be penalized. For example #5 is a 186 par 3. The pin was far left and not wanting to short side myself so I bailed out too far right. I thought my ball would be just off the green in the rough. Wrong...there was a slope which took the ball down into the waste area. Penalty stroke later and a bad chip up the hill got me a triple bogey. Turns out I would have been better off going straight for the pin and would have been better off short siding myself. So it's one of those courses where if you play it a second time, your score will probably improve just from knowing where and where not to hit it.
Overall I enjoyed this course and except for some of the greens being subpar, it was well worth the money and I'll definitely be returning to get my revenge on the course. And once again, I played a 3 hour round of golf and didnt see another person until I hit the 15th hole when things slowed up.
Playable course
This is a very playable course. Each hole is different and interesting. Course is in great shape with exception of a couple of greens.
