Ahh
Course has great potential, rough is crazy needs to be cut its like hitting out of 3' deep grass but it's Bermuda grass that's 5" or more!!! And the garbage floating tru the waterway was disgusting!!!
Horrible second cut off fairway
The second cut of fairway is so bad it’s worse than rough. The flood plane it’s built on is horrible at swallowing the ball. It is not worth more than a muni course.
Don't go Right
This is a great course for lefties. Fairways and Greens were in great shape, but the rough was ridiculously long.
Almost every hole has a ditch/wash on the right side, so if you hit the ball to the right at all, it will end up in the ditch.
Tough in the rough
This course has the deeeeeepest rough in Vegas now that Royal Links is closed. The majority of the fairways are pretty narrow. To the left is very soft medium rough, then dirt and rocks. To the right is DANGER on most holes. Very unforgiving, deep rough. More than 50% chance you won’t find your ball. Bring plenty of balls and a lot of patience because the group in front of you will be down in the wash looking for their balls. Almost 5 hour round.
Best Bunkers in Nevada
Really amazed at how great the bunkers are at this course, REAL SAND , NO ROCKS like every high end course in nevada( I don't play private courses so they could have decent bunkers). Blew my mind that a course on the east side of vegas has greens in perfect condition - a little slow but the entire course is green, green ,green. The rough is exceptional high and there is lots of it- about 6-8 inches deep.
The course is built on both sides of a drainage so you feel like your on the side of a hill throughout the entire round
Boring layout and no shade. But great bunkers, green and price !
Excessive amount of watering of areas that really don't need to be green it was 2 in the afternoon 106 degrees what a waste of water. The workers on the the drain in between the course were wasting tons of water pushing debris into the drain. I believe the workers are city workers ??? Tired of hearing about how I need to conserve water at my house when I watch the city waste water for 3 straight hours in large quantities on this drain area.
Better every day
I have been playing this course for about two years now, and every time, the course improves. Course is currently in great shape. Friendly staff. Great value.
Nice course, but too much trash around
This course was in pretty good condition (greens and fairways were excellent), but there is just way too much trash in the rough and further down. If they could clean that up, this course would receive a higher rating and become a favorite. The staff is awesome and the pace of play was great for the weekend. This course will punish you if you have a slice as all the holes surrounds around the sewer/ trash area so all shots hit into the rough or further is pretty much not findable because of all the trash that has build up over there. But it will make you work on fixing your slice or learning how to play a nice fade. Overall 3 stars, only because of the amount of trash, but the staff and the rest of the course are great
Hopeful for next time!
The course layout is great. Makes you use all of your clubs. Slow greens. I would love to play when the greens are faster.
Can great greens save a poor course?
Positive: greens are in great shape. Most of the grass is pretty good. The staff was great. The sand was in good shape, which was extra surprising given that most traps had no rakes. The Marshall helped the slow foursome in front of us learn how to let people play through.
Negative: Obviously, being next to the Flamingo Wash has its drawbacks. Several holes are lined with garbage, including areas that aren't out of bounds.
Bring lots of balls. Like 2 cases of balls because almost every hole on the course follows one of the overflow washes that drains all of Las Vegas to lake mead, and this results in many swampy areas. Even in well over half the fairways. Swampy areas equal muddy balls. There is NOT ONE ball wash station on the whole dang course.
The overflow washes are also on the right side of every hole they line. This means that if there is a slice you your game as a righty you will spend a disproportionate amount of time well below the playing surface hitting out of a ravine.
There were also a lot of areas of ground under repair on nearly every fairway.
Many holes are also lined by trailer parks, abandoned or burned out buildings, or hoarder homes.
