About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Came back for a second time , course in great condition, staff great , greens rolling well
Good Course, good value
I enjoyed the round very much. I had heard complaints about narrow fairways but really they are not that narrow. I'm not that great of a player and managed keep my ball in play most of the time.

hot
played here while visiting and staying on the strip. it was hot (as expected, 106F) but i think that helped with pace of play. they proved 2 bottles of water in the cart icebox and there are filling stations. the course is beautiful and well groomed. my only complaint were the bunkers which didn't have any sand - more like hardened dirt w/ gravel - that cost me a stroke on a couple of greenside bunkers. still, had a great time.

Excellent course.
Saw some pictures and videos online and the greens and fairways looked rough after booking a tee time with a buddy of mine. Was skeptical about how the day was going to be, but what a great course this was. The fairways and greens are in pristine condition, and you can tell they put a lot of love into maintaining the course.

Car Path and dirt
The car path is like driivng through hundreds of pot holes, your whole body bangs after you drive on this path. Next to fairway is just old dirt hard to hit off, fairways are narrow and long.
So, bad coutrse taht is very narrow and holes are long.

Fun track
Fairways and greens were really nice. Fair layout but challenging. Greens rolled true. The only criticism I have is the bunkers. They are rock hard and often almost unplayable. Other than that I loved the course. I played it for the first time a week prior to this round. I’ll play it often.

Overall the course is in good shape now, though need to put some san on the traps. Sand traps are clay, no way of getting out smoothly out of them. Greens are rolling well.

Played here many times and I’d have to say the greens and fairways were probably the best I’ve ever seen them.
Staff is super friendly and the clubhouse is spacious and clean and has great food and drinks.

Perfect Friday afternoon.
In an effort to play 18 holes with no pre-planning. This was a great value and we were able to take our time and play a couple balls throughout the course. A few greens need some attention but only on the edges.

Staff is always very personable and the course was I. excellent condition. Greens rolled fast and consistent. Bunkers were in better shape than expected, but I was only in 2 of them !

A 100% honest review
Employees are friendly. Tee boxes are pretty good. Fairways a little dry.Greens very good condition. Course could use some TLC. Cart paths are brutal in alot of spots.
Hello, thank you for the honest review. We struggled with some irrigation issues, but our fairways will continue to green up daily. Our greens are in the best shape they have been in years, and we will continue to make improvements. Our cart paths are an area of concern, and we hope to address the worse parts soon.

Overall great course
I’ve been hesitant to play this course after being burned by very slow pace of play the last couple of times. That was not the case on a Saturday. We never waited for a group and progressed nicely. Tee boxes were 7/10, fairways and greens were solid, 9/10. The bunkers were the only drawback. Shallow lies, with little to hard sand with no way of splashing or getting a decent chunky shot. Combine that with a lot of rocks, they were severely penalizing.
