About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Customer Service
From the moment I checked in, every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly and delivered outstanding customer service. The course itself was fantastic as well. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be encouraging my golf buddies to come play here too.
Not worth the non resident rate.
I’m from the Bay Area and tee times have gotten high. But I come to Vegas and expect it to be expensive and that’s just the way it is now. The greens at painted desert rolled pretty good when I played today. The layout is pretty fun and fair. But it this track really needs some maintenance. I saw the complaints about the cart path and it’s actually worse than I imagined. The tee boxes were equally as bad. And for 140 bucks there quite a few tracks in the bay that are always in great shape and better overall golf. The staff was friendly and welcoming I must add.

Poor other golfers
Pace of play slow 2 many golfers taking to long to drive play and putt, especially near sun down

I didn't see any water coolers. It's a must so I can't give this course a great review.

Slow budget course
It's a budget course. I would only play it when it's empty. I thought it would be empty today as there were no bookings on the tee sheet an hour in front of me, but I ran into a slow group on hole 3 that ruined the round. 2 hours 15 minutes for the front 9 in the middle of the summer on an empty tee sheet.
Tee times are spaced out every 8 minutes. They pack in foursomes in the morning. Carts do not have GPS and there is no ranger to speed up play. There were not enough carts available to start the round.
Tee box grass was semi-rough length, too long. Bunkers had absolutely zero sand in them and there are a ton of bunkers on this course. Very frustrating to get your ball in one and have to play it as if you're chipping from compacted dirt. Greens were fine, fairways were fine. If you miss the fairway your ball is going into a ditch full of desert rock - bring a desert wedge.
Cart paths had lots of turns, were bumpy and hilly. Residential community which meant hearing backyard party music, construction, leaf blowers from a few homes. Some nice mountain views on holes, and a large water hazard on hole 7/8. Range balls were not included, grass range. Water was included in the cart, and a restroom had a fountain to re-fill. Beverage cart came around as well.

Pai ted Desert was a deal
Lush fairways 17 of 18 greens were groomed well, true and decent speed. Bunkers were clean and well kept. It was most enjoyable.

Good Course, good value
I enjoyed the round very much. I had heard complaints about narrow fairways but really they are not that narrow. I'm not that great of a player and managed keep my ball in play most of the time.
