One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.

Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.

The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.

"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Course was good; weather: not so much

Very windy day but, the course was in good shape and played well. Driving range needs help too.

Otherwise a great day of golf.

Painted fun

Nice place with very friendly staff. Course runs through homes an d is tight. Course in good shape. No gps in carts and yardage markers were almost impossible to find. Greens were good. A lot desert as part of course so if you were of faraway you were in desert like conditions, rocks and stuff. It is a $75 to $100 course.

Nice Day

Good day for play being my first time here. A little confusion with the person getting golfers out on time. Ended up 20 minutes behind on our tee time. Play was slow.

Slow going and no rangers. Also tee boxes are all uneven. Strangest course ever!

The bunkers didn’t have any rakes. The cart path was dangerously uneven and broken. The starter told me to do the back nine first then when I started the front nine I found 3 groups ahead of me since the starter put them in front of me.

I then quit and went home since I didn’t want to spend the next 4 hours behind those groups.

This was the worst course I’ve ever played and would never recommend this course to anyone.

It wasn’t worth the money I paid.

Worst tee boxes

Every tee box is uneven. Lots of rough areas of the course too. Some greens are nice, but not all of them. The cart paths are all chewed up, and it’s like off roading while driving down them. Too expensive for the conditions!

Painted Desert

The course has a nice challenging layout with nice fairways and greens. Some holes require a straight tee shot. I was pulling many of my tee shots on the back nine and had difficult second shots due to ball locations.

Five hour round and okay course

Be warned that there is no ranger or starter on this course. Be prepared for 5+ hour rounds! The staff was fine, course was okay! WAY WAY over priced based on condition of course. Anything over $30 is a rip off to play here, it’s pretty poor! When you go play the courses in the cereal vicinity like Los Prados or even Durango Hills is better than this place and much much cheaper! This is run by one of the lower end course management companies, and it truly shows! Greens are beaten, fairways are also tore up, and not one tee box is flat! It’s a total joke of a course! I’m serious about the tee box’s too. Beware!

Very good conditions

I play this course regularly. The conditions of the grass was the best I’ve seen all winter. Lush fairways and soft greens.

Refund!!

We arrived 30 minutes early. They had a tourn in the am and it delayed all the tee times by 1 hr and 15 minutes. Our tee time was at 12:36 and we did not tee off until 1:40pm. We only got thru 14 holes. Very disappointing!! We are requesting a full or partial refund! Please respond...
