Golf Summerlin - Highland Falls Course

This course is TOUGH with undulating fairways and greens that will surely test your golf game and increase your handicap.

This was my first time playing this course and I enjoyed it. The course was in fair shape. Some of the greens had some bare spots that looked like they might have been hit with fungus. The layout was fun to play and not overly long from the tips. The speed of play was really exceptional. My playing partners weren’t quick but we finished in under 4 hours. Carts were in good shape and clean. The people at the grill were very friendly and the food is solid. I would return…especially for the value.

Highland Falls finishes on a high note. The back 9 stood out as you make the turn on 14 around the corner. 14-18 are 5 great finishing holes. Elevation changes are ever present throughout the course as both 9s play in a box down around and back up toward the mountains. Tee boxes were nice. Fairways were a bit long, but had good amounts of grass which helped hold a few more fairways with the driver. Sand traps felt good with good amounts of sand. Unfortunately, the downfall of the course at the moment is on the greens. They need some work. A few reviews talk about recent aeration. This, at the moment, is more than that. Seems like a removal of Poa grass which has caused many spots to be bare. Putts are “bumpy” at best. If the Bermuda can grow eventually, Highland Falls can become a course that is worth the value play.

We enjoyed the course layout, that has lots of variety to the holes. I believe the greens had recently been punched and sanded so they weren't in the best condition but it's necessary maintenance. We did a twilight rate which was very good value.

The greens are in unacceptable condition. In addition, the course could benefit from some watering. Overall, l a rather unenjoyable and incomplete experience.

Everything good except greens still showing signs of sanding, which affects speed of putts.

First time playing Highland Falls at Summerlein. Played on a Tuesday afternoon with high winds so the course was not too busy. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the course, particularly the layout as none of the holes are exactly the same. Back 9 definitely has some elevation changes with hole 14 or 15 illustrating a perfect view back toward the Las Vegas Strip with the numerous hotels.

For me personally, the fairways were cut to a perfect length and the collars of all the greens were immaculate. Most if not all the bunkers were raked and no problem getting out (in 1 of them).

The greens were very quick (which is my preference rather then slow). The Sup looks like he is attempting to correct a few of the greens as there were some bare patches evident.

Check in at Pro Shop handled professionally. Good range as well.

Overall, I would def play again, mainly due to the various (non-similar) hole layout.

We played a tournament on Tuesday the 25th and I was in the first group. around the 14th hole. Marshall comes up to us and says we are 20 minutes behind and hurry up even though The group behind us was over a hole behind and we were waiting on every shot on the group ahead. At the time we were under a 4 hour pace and I asked the Marshall if we were expected to finish in 3 hours and 40 minutes. When I completed my round, I mentioned this to the pro shop when we finished in under 4 hours and in a cocky tone he said we expect you to finish in 3 hrs and 58 minutes. No course in America expects you to finish in under 4 hrs let alone exactly 3 hours and 58 minutes. He was the same guy when I checked in didn't say a word to me. When the group behind us finished. approx 15 minutes later, I asked them if the Marshall said anything to them. They said no. So they were also right around 4 hours to as we finished in around 3 hrs 50 minutes though we were waiting on every shot which i didn't mind since they were under pace. Last time our tournament will be held here.

Staff and Marshall not friendly. Marshall pushed us when we were under 4 hour pace. We finished in under 4 hours. Nobody behind us and we were waiting on group ahead. When I complained to staff he said we expect under 4 hrs. Yeah right!

Really nice course, though the greens were recently plugged and didn't putt well. Overall good course and value. I'll play again.

Booked a 1pm tee time for $81. The tee boxes and fairways are in great shape. Rough still needs some summer love but for $81 in the afternoon I would have expected pga level conditions. We did not get that. We got sent to 10 cause there was a gap which was great. Was able to finish our round in 4 hours exactly. Waited on a few holes but nothing major. I love this course but if I'm paying this much money I expect a lot more than just a small range bucket and decent course conditions. Not the best value for your money.

Payed way too much for this course. Would maybe play again for $40. This course was in terrible condition! Hard as a rock and very dry! Fairway grass was longer than the shaved down rough. Greens were treated a few weeks ago and look like they’re never going to recover! Vegas has better places to play! Only saving grace was a few good views!

We were late because of a flat tire. They started us on the back 9 with no trouble. Course was in good shape despite chilly and windy conditions.
