Piankatank River Golf Club

The course is a tale of two nines. Requires a variety of shots, but a great experience for most golfers. Not somewhere I’d bring a first time golfer, but definitely a course for someone still learning or experienced.

From the food, staff, greens this course is perfect.

This course has it all. Great layout, great conditions, great staff and all at a very reasonable price. I've played many courses this fall and winter and Piankatank is in the best condition I've seen. You will be challenged but if you select the right club and be mindful of the carefully placed trouble you'll be rewarded with a great golf experience.

This was a great golf course. The front nine very similar to many of the courses in northern Michigan and the back nine was also well layed out and challenging.

The published description of the course caught my eye ( elevation changes on the front nine, river view a on the back). We played it on Sunday the 6th of November and the description was spot on. We really enjoyed the course. Undulating greens and a few blind shots really kept our interest. Conditions were great! How did I play? Who cares when the views are as beautiful as they are on the course.

We are looking forward to returning next spring when the trees and shrubs will be in full bloom.

What a great golf course, front nine with some tricky dog legs and decent elevation changes. Back 9 more level with some great view of the river. Greens were a good size and had quite a bit of undulations. Very enjoyable round of golf

Tee boxes were basically rough grass. Green speeds were inconsistent. Otherwise it’s a nice course with good views.

Everyone we came in contact with at Piankatank was friendly indeed. We were welcomes with a friendly young lady Amber (?) behind the counter and after the round a retired Naval submarine worker even though was just off duty was kind enough to take pictures of us outside the entrance. Was even kind enough to move the water cooler to take a better shot of us.

The golf course was well maintained with a Jekyl and Hide personally. The front was hilly and the back was flat. The back side had 3 holes on the water which were memorable indeed. The fairways were lush and the ball shot up quite nicely. best fairways this year.

This golf course was a little bit of a ride but well worth the trip.

My only complaint is that the workers move from hole to hole going forward and stay with you for two tom three holes. My suggestion is that the workers who are pleasant and doing a great job start there jobs going in reverse holes and therefore the interruption and noise of the mowers are only affecting you by one hole.

With that being said it is good to see workers out there doing a fine job and respectful of golfers by stopping and allowing you to play by even shutting their mowers off. Thank you for that.

Super fun layout, great for price! Great pace until we got to back 9 and it seemed there was a high school match in play which caused a couple play throughs, no one to guide us.
