Ungrateful and unfriendly staff
We played here before and enjoyed. But not again on Golfnow.com. Checking in at the pro shop. I asked the staff, Mike, if there is any chance to play earlier than my reservation. He said, "You've a deep discount and that means you will play at your time!" Since I plan to return home, Friday afternoon what I was going to ask him was to move up tee time and I was planning to pay the difference in the fees. He shut me off, making me like a cheap or opportunist who pay a discount fee and then play earlier. There were some open slots and the pace of play was less than 3:45 for our foursome. Never experienced such unprofessional staff anywhere else or any time the past 23 years of golfing. By treating me like a cheap and inferior person, he made the same to the Golfnow. Com. Sorry but I don't need this kind of customer relations experience.
I'll play here again.
The wind was terrible, but the course is good. The condition of the course needs to be improved, but we had a good time.
Love this course
The staff is always super friendly here. I came out for the first time this season, the course was in very good shape for the time of year. Other courses were closed because of the weather over the past week but Wildcreek was open and the conditions were great. I don't think I had one mud ball in my whole round. I love this course. Please don't shut it down!!!
Good Deal!
A reasonably good deal for a good course. Not a great course compared to other courses in and around the Reno / Carson Valley area. Have played here often in the last year and was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the course conditions especially since we have been through a severe drought. A better deal and worth the money compared to the nearby Washoe GC.
Very tough course
Do not even think of walking this course unless you are
in super good shape and not a course for a beginner....
Interesting
GREAT........#18isnotforthefaintofheart!!!!Notawalkingcourse!!!
A Local Seniors best bet
As a old duffer who has been chasing that little ball for 50+ years I have some experience on other golf courses, (especially Executive courses) as at my age 69 I am worn out after 9. You can travel far and wide, but overall Wildcreek has one of the best 9 hole courses around. The par three course requires accuracy as well as the approach shot does and all greens are challenging but," I disagree with other reviews on this) I think Wildcreek does a great job maintaining the executive course greens and the course in general. You all know even the best courses treat their Executive courses like a afterthought, but Wildcreek does not. and when you get a par on that course you have accomplished something special, there is a couple of tough par threes on that course.
Also as a public course it is a sweet deal for a local senior $16.00 for a round with elect. cart included. no Tee times, first come first serve basis. When the Marmots are out you would think you were playing in a game preserve, wildlife is always amazing, Last week I shanked one close to the water went over and got a surely look from a coyote cause I woke him up the look on his face was worth the price of admission that day and there is always something going on in the wildlife dept..
Reno Golf
I played three rounds in three days in Reno. This was my least favorite of the three courses. Not that it was horrible, but I think the other courses were a better value for the money. This course had a fair amount of difficulty in the routing of some of the holes espcially the 18th.
Not just an ordinary flat easy course
Thankfully I played with a local because there are a number of holes that have target style shots. Some big elevation changing holes which were fun. The sand was like dirt but it's been very dry for weeks. The fairways had soft spots from some over watering and the greens were tricky. All in all worth the money and a nice course.
I like Wild Creek
Very interesting and challenging course. I always enjoy the course, wild life & getting good deals when I play.
bad pairing
Paired with terrible golfers and extremely slow plow, no fun at all, the course is not what it used to be. Greens very chewed up and slow.
Good challenging course
Booked on line. Terrific price. One of the best courses in Reno area. Lots of challenging holes. User friendly. Will play again today.
good shape for the shape we're in
Wildcreek is a very interesting course: some pretty challenging ups and downs, great views, price is reasonable and the course is in pretty good shape for the shape this part of the world is in - worst drought of all time...I've played here forever and although it's not one of the top courses in town, it's pretty close and every bit as much fun and challenging. You don't want to walk it unless you've seen it: then decide.
Afternoon at Wildcreek
Nice course. Good Value for your money.
Weather was good, staff friendly and efficient.
My personal course
Its so nice to go early in the morning. No one in front and no one behind on the 18. The executive course appeared to be quite full. Cool morning air, good views and several challenging holes for us amateurs. The last two times I went as a double and didnt have to get teamed up with strangers. That is nice. Also, when you cant see anyone around it feels like it is your own personal golf course. Its actually cheaper than some worse courses. Namely the one in Stead, which i like to call sagebrush alley. Lol. We like wild creek, however, slow down on the over watering.
Great views of Reno
Lots of up and down holes. Could use some TLC. Watch out for birds on 10th hole as they have a habit of stealing food from golf carts.
A Fun Course
I found Wildcreek to be an enjoyable course. The greens are true and there is not the usual bump all around the holes.
There are many level changes that add to the fun of playing this course. There are sand traps and ponds to keep you alert but you can avoid them if you are careful.
My wife and I consider ourselves intermediate golfers and would recommend Wildcreek enthusiastically.
golf with buddy's
Great practice facility , good carts no GPS, course is is very good shape. food great. Would ask that when booked on Golf Now they tell you free bucket of balls included , I paid ! Price was there every day price for afternoon, I paid more for booking on Golfnow !
