Newbie
Course was very challenging but fun. Lots of water on the front nine, so be careful. Love the elevation changes. 18th hole is bizarre and challenging.
A Hot Time Was Had At Woodcreek
I played as a single (alone) on July 5. The weather was pretty hot which might have kept others away. I got a Great Deal on Golf Now. I was running late and called the Pro Shop to advise them. They were Excellent and said I can play at any time I get there...no problems At All.
For the Heat and Drought the Course was in very good shape and every place you should hit the ball was nice and green. Fairways were tight and greens were fast by my standards and made for an enjoyable round. I played alone as they had nobody to pair me with so I was able to pass a few groups on the course already and finished in just over 3 hrs. You probably will lose more than one ball on this course (I played the Whites) so be sure to bring a few spares.
I have played here multiple times on my visits to Reno area for the course challenge, the Spectacular View, and the Value it offers. It is a fair test of golf and should provide all the challenge you need whatever your skill level.
Wildcreek
Nice course. Conditions are fare. Greens are rolling good. Steady pace of play.
Good layout
Some good golf holes, but conditions were not great compared to others i played in the area during the same week. Really slow pace of play.
Food
Ordered on the turn for Two cheese burgers and fries. Got out food moved on the the 10th hole. Started eating from the tenth to the eleventh. One burger was raw and we had to throw it out. That was the only issue we had other than waiting for the group in front of us. It was still fun. We enjoyed our selfs.
Play in the morning
We played this in the afternoon and, as is usually the case around here, it was windy. (I'm guessing one gust hit 40.). The greens are slow, but fairly consistent, and without wind, the course would be easy; with wind - yikes!
Definitely wild
Wildcreek was awesome. Weather was beautiful and course was in great condition. Greens are tricky and fast. Keep it below the hole for success. Tried using my golfshot app. For some reason could not pick up this course. Judging yard ages was difficult. Had an experienced player in the group that good course knowledge. Paul randy and Chris were good locals to get grouped with. Had a great time.
Good day of golf
Lots of waiting due to slow play. Hilly course, with rough and out of bounds nearly impossible to find lost balls. Greens and most fairways were in very good shape due to rain early in week possibly. Somewhat difficult course unless good golfer since you are on a lot of sloping ground and I found my approach shots pushing 180 yards a lot. But great views of downtown reno. Can be very hot in the afternoon, since few trees along course. But evening was quite enjoyable. Extremely difficult course to walk and no time to find balls off the fairway, so I had to grab the cart at the 10th hole. But it is very reasonably priced and I will golf there again.
Two different nines.
This was our first time playing the course. We found the front nine more difficult than the back. Water on the front demands accurate shots to score well. The back is more forgiving. The day we played the wind was fierce. If you are planning on playing, get an early time to avoid the daily afternoon desert winds.
exciting golf
Weather was excellent and views were good and nobody brother. It was prmier golf trips in my life. Tanks golfnow!
friendly staff
great place to go play golf, the green have been sanded so a bit slow, but still a great plece to go play
Challenges for every golfer
Some tees you need to be able to drive 200 yards to clear desert floor with sand, rock and vegetation before hitting the fairway. Some fairways are wide enough severe for miss hits. Some holes require arrow straight accuracy. The is some water on the course that will capture your hook or slice. You will play on side hills that will give you above and below your feet shots. You hit up hill and down hill to the green. There is enough variety to challenge your entire game.
course is fun to play
the course had been punched and sanded, the greens with the sand on them were fine. wind came up as you would expect.
Nice scenery
Relaxing, I am from Hawaii so I cant say it compares with my home state.
Blown away!
Great course, great Golfnow value but winds (4 club ) took much of the fun out of it. Not kidding! It was an otherwise nice day but once the wind kicked up it some of the tough shots were almost impossible. OLook forward to playing on a calm day. Staff was great and course is both interesting and challenging.
Restrictions
Unable to drive carts on fairway and had to stay strictly on poorly maintained pathways. There should be a cart discount if you are going to be restricted using a cart, or better just to walk the course.
