Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run

Enjoyed the course layout and conditions. Greens were a little slow, but consistent and in great shape

We were fortunate to be paired with 2 members who were very helpful and kind. The greens were in great shape and quick. The fairway and tee boxes were in good shape—the carts had no GPS. The ranger made several trips around to ensure an appropriate pace of play. I will definitely book here again.

We have been timeshare owners since late 80’s at Shelter Cove. Through the years we’ve played all the courses at Palmetto Dunes, and with the Heritage group. Also in the mix were courses off the island. Golden Bear is in our category of “we’ll try to play every year”. This year, with the courses we generally play having been aerified, we decided to play off island and at The Golden Bear, on 6/6 and 6/7. Every thing from bag drop, to check in to course conditions was very good. But, if you like to play in 4 hrs or less, it won’t happen. Most play at resort courses is pretty slow anyway, but I would rate our Friday round as rude. Immediately in front of my wife and I were two resident ladies. In front of them was a single, who played the tips. In front of him was a 3-some. Don’t know why a Marshall was not present, but the single should have been allowed to play thru. He was a very good player! This incident was not a reason not to play the course, but just saying. Depending on the tee box you play from, you will enjoy the layout and the folks working there. The dog legs left and right , the water left and right, the sand everywhere provides a true skill challenge and the greens were smooth and putted well.

The fees are reasonable (about $100 ea) with ice and cold water always available. Next time we’ll bring rangefinders as they are not available on the carts. Other than the exceptional slow round on Friday, I would suggest to call and find out the aeration schedule so that the full experience of the course can be enjoyed.

Course has a great layout lots of wonderful holes. People had mentioned they were struggling with the greens here and there there were a couple spots but the majority of all the greens were smooth fast made a nice little bounce when you pitched them they were not spongy, and soft

It was fun to play. The pace was too slow. Rangers came around but just said can't go any faster.

The staff was friendly, great and informative not only about the course but area dining.

We had a nice day playing Golden Bear for the first time in 10 years. The fairways and greens are in great shape. The greens and pin placements were very reasonable. I played the forward tees, which are about 300 yds shorter than my home course and shot an 85.

I had a wonderful time playing the golden bear. It is so nice and manicured - just a beautiful course.

First time playing this course and wish I had played on previous trips. For the money, this was the best condition course I have played on the island. It was a great day of golf.

Course was surprisingly good, considering it was priced at the lower end of the spectrum on the island. Conditions were exemplary, staff very friendly , overall a great value. Only negative was pace of play was a train wreck due to one foursome , who received no encouragement from a marshal to speed up.

Average course for price. The pace of play was horrendous, 5 hours. Our playing partners had cart problems that were allegedly due to GPS issues which were annoying. Was expecting more but resort golf is just not good for quality play and reasonable pace if you are a true golfer.

this was a super fun course to play. i’m extremely new to the game ive only been playing for 2 months. the starter and caddie staff were awesome, the people at the desk were cool, not rude but not nice. just wanted to speed things up quickly i guess. gorgeous course though, 9/10
