About
Oyster Reef features elevated tees and lush fairways lined by thick stands of live oak and pine. Numerous doglegs accented by strategically located mounds and fairway bunkers, call for well-planned tee shots. Varying sizes of greens with well-defined tiers place a premium on precise approach shots.
The par-3 sixth hole, which plays 192 yards from the back tees to a green set against a backdrop of Port Royal Sound, is one of the most visually spectacular holes on Hilton Head. Oyster Reef is now a semi-private member-owned club with a limited number of tee times for guest play,
The carefully-maintained facility, designed by noted course architect Rees Jones, continues to be a favorite destination for serious golfers as well as a favorite with locals.

Beautiful day
As always, the staff at Oyster Reef is friendly, attentive, and professional.
The course is in perfect condition, and is very beautiful. My only disappointment for the day was we were behind a 2some that decided they should play 2-3 balls at every shot, including putting on the green. Not very polite of these folks.
This is one of my favorite places to play on the island.
Driving range was closed. One temporary green. Cart path only. No one told us until we paid. Lots of other courses we could have played.

Great staff, friendly confines, and one of the premier golf spots on HHI. Must play when visiting the best island spot the US had to offer.
enjoyed the course and will play again. it is somewhat tight, lots of doglegs, played robert trent jones 2 day prior and oyster was superior in its condition.
Lovely Course
A mid price ranged course that didn’t disappoint.
Some interesting holes, lovely staff and clubhouse with good beer and food.
Nice layout with a lot of mature trees and shady paths. Tees, fairways, and bunkers in good shape but some greens were a little rough, especially #9. For the price, would have expected something a little nicer though.
Overall nice course. Not sure its worth what they charge
Course was beautiful overall. Driving range was beat up really bad and was basically sand. Course itself was in good shape. A couple greens had spots on them but good overall. Would play again on a hot deal. Not worth normal greens fees.
Over Priced
Nice course and a good layout. Staff was excellent. Unfortunately, there is nothing spectacular about this course that requires $180+ for green fees. Too many other options on island that are better value for the money.
Loved It
The course was in great shape. Layout is fair but challenging. Greens were quick. Fairways were fast. Really enjoyed it
First time playing Oyster Reef and it was great . Course was in great shape , greens rolled true . Way too steep on the price .
Ok but declined
The course was pretty well maintained except the greens need some love. The staff wasn't nearly as friendly and helpful as last time. I'd probably return again based on the stellar first experience a couple of years ago.
Course was in great shape and everyone in my group had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had a great lunch.
