Wedgefield Golf Club
About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Enjoyable round - good condition
Good condition for winter golf in Florida. Staff very friendly and helpful - nice explanation for the first time playing the course. Also, nice maps of course provided. Only negative was no rakes - none in traps, none on carts - what's the deal with that? A little out of the way, but would likely play again.
Course is in good shape
Course is in the best shape I have seen in a while. Great Job Wedgefield
Always great conditions
Fairways and greens have been in phenomenal shape.
Worth the Drive!
Staff was friendly. Nice layout, good condition. Greens were consistent. Not much of a driving range (and $6 for a small bucket of balls). Nice putting green. Sodas etc were reasonably priced.
It is a bit of a drive, but worth it for the price. Pace of play was fairly slow right off the bat, but we were a pair behind a couple of groups of four, and it was a beautiful day. Will play again!
We have played wedgefield for the past 5 or 6 years. It has steadily improved every year. The only problem were some of the greens had poana grass growing . But overall it was very enjoyable playing there.
bunkers
bunkers are not sand they are dirt and zero rakes!
No rakes anywhere
Wedgefield golf
Decent, can be slow depending on some 4-somes pace of play. Good value for the money with fairways and greens in decent shape and well maintained.
Enjoyed the round!
The course is challenging but a little rough around the edges. The course had sand traps with a different sand than what I would have expected, but they (seemed more like a dirt than sand) played pretty good. Didn't have rakes in the traps, so we just smoothed it out after our shots. Quite challenging with all the sand and water on the course, so you can loose a few balls. Never did find the twosome we were supposed to play with, but we paired with guy on the putting green and had an enjoyable round with him, He had to go after 13 holes because of a family commitment, so we invited the twosome behind us and we played in with them. We were occasionally waiting on the 4some in front of us, it would have been too slow if we played as a 2some. The moderate rates made this course good deal!
Good conditions for Florida winter golf
Very positive experience - not too crowded, course in better condition than others played over the past few weeks, friendly and helpful staff. A little out of the way, but will likely make the trip again. Only negative was no rake in bunkers or on carts - what is up with that?
Layout is fun; lots of leaves on the course making it hard to locate the ball
