Nice course with my Buddy
I needed to 18 hole course where my Golfing Buddy (Wife) and I could play 9 holes riding during the mid morning. Montclair was the perfect spot. It had a small putting green and a short practice range. We had a good time. My round was under par (I didn’t say my score was under par).
My wife says she could play there again. Yea me!

Great trek. Just a lot of dry and dirt spots where grass should be.

Great Suprise
I live near by but never gave the course much of a look. I had a small window of time and the team at the course worked me in for 18. The course was in much better shape than some other local, more expensive courses. It was well laid out, fair and just challenging enough. I will be back again and bringing some friends along with me.
Used to be a decent course
I had played this course a handful of times (several years ago) before this most recent round. The course used to be in relatively good shape when it was private but that is definitely not the case now. The tee boxes are dirt and weeds with some patches of grass if you’re lucky. The fairways were full of weeds/crabgrass and several bare/dead spots. It is almost like management has phoned it in and letting nature take back the land. It is a shame to see courses like this go down the toilet.

Could be much better
Please read the reviews before making your decision! I am not a picky person, but I was very disappointed when I played here. Teeing ground, fairways are poorly maintained, The absolute worst condition EVER! It felt like the course had been abandoned. Layout was beautiful but personally, despite the cheap $$ I would never play there again. Staffs were very friendly though but that was about it. If you planned to give it a shot, expect to donate your balls to the woods. Almost impossible to recover once your ball is in the woods.

Bad timing
Bad time to co.e as they had a tournament going on and should have sent a twosome off the back, instead we are stuck behind a group of 14 and skipped 7 of the front 9 then just gave up

There’s a reason she’s 35$ on hotdeals
Crab grass and terrible greens keep this place from being one of Virginia's top courses. I grew up here and it’s sad to see the shape it’s in now. Although at the same time I love playing here, it’s a great deal and great to learn the game on.
A Bit Disappointing
I always enjoy playing here but it seems the course is way behind schedule for recovering from winter conditions. Fairways are still thin, and greens are a mess. Tee boxes are non-existent. Hopefully the recent rains and warm conditions will start to bring it back to life.

Beautiful course with its share of flaws. But it’s great
Conditions are BAD
The conditions are laughable. Not a single tee box has ANY grass. You’re hitting off dirt and sand. Baseball size rocks in the bunkers. Parts of greens completely dead. Just not a lot of grass any where.
Poorly Maintained
The course is in dire need of some love. From the tee boxes, to the fairways to the greens, there wasn't much green. The tee boxes were mostly dirt. The fairways were very hard, and the greens were patchy at best.
The course is carved within a neighborhood, so there are houses at every hole. For me and my game, this is a deal breaker.
The course could be beautiful if it was better taken care of.

Overall the course was ok except none of the tees (I played the whites) had any grass. Had to hit off dirt. No exaggeration
The epitome of a Goat Track
Stay away! I play around 200 rounds a year and this is by far the worst golf course I’ve ever played in my life. Goofy layout with barely any grass anywhere… fairways, greens, or tee boxes were either dirt or just solid rock. And the way the holes are routed don’t reward any good shots. I was frustrated from the first to the last hole. Don’t even know what they can do to make this course enjoyable other than just demolishing everything and starting from scratch. Sorry it was just that bad.
Great value for a somewhat challenging course
Had a great time checking out this course. Pace of play was excellent. Each hole is by itself - none of the back and forth where you are just playing the hole in reverse at some courses. The holes were challenging, with elevation changes, and great layouts. Bunkers need some work as the sand was inconsistent. Greens and tee boxes are also showing some wear and need attention. It has a driving range, but you can't hit any woods or you will fly out the back of it. Overall, nice course when taken into the value that I got for booking for it.
