Shabby rental clubs

I called ahead to make sure the rental clubs were decent. They said yes, but they were not.

Dirty mismatched mid quality clubs missing a 9 iron is what they gave me. No one in sight to correct this problem when I noticed it on the first hole.

Premium courses should have premium clubs or at least be honest about what they have.

Great Course - pain to get to.

Always in nice shape and generally a good value with GolfNow. Front gate entrance to get to it is getting worse and worse. Not unusual to be backed up and take 20 minutes to get through. You’d think you were entering a top secret military base and not just a residential community with a couple golf courses. Colossal pain in the butt.

Consistently Great

Beautiful condition, consistent greens, decent pace of play and helpful friendly staff. Discounts available on GolfNow make it a great value. Rack rates are a little high but everything in the Coachella Valley this year is a little on the high side. Lots of courses holding high season rates while their tee sheets are almost empty. Definitely recommend Santa Rosa and sister course San Gorgonio.

Thank you. Were all the holes open for play? Earlier reviews mention 2 holes not open for play.

Nice Friendly Course

Overall very satisfied. Yesterday we got behind some slower players so play was 1/2, hour longer. No cart girl yesterday either.

I enjoyed the scenery very much.

No Transparency

I found Mountain Vista Santa Rosa on Golfnow and at $82 seemed like a great price. So I booked it. What they did not disclose was that holes 4 and 5 were closed, so you were only playing a 16 hole round. There was notice on the counter as you checked in but no one directed you to the hole closures or mentioned it. It was only when we were playing it fully registered what the notice had meant. In the end, this was not a huge issue, I just think the course was less than transparent as to the restrictions. The course itself was in great shape and very playable. I would definitely return, and if the price was still so low, understand some holes are still closed.

Missed holes

Course was very nice. Clubhouse breakfast was great. I was disappointed that there was no mention of the 2 holes that were not being used.

Only 16 holes open, but they don’t tell you that before booking

The 16 holes that were open were in pretty good condition, but after paying over $300, we were not very happy to find out that two of the holes were permanently closed until further notice. Also, of course, Marshall was very rude, and when we went back to eat, they took our clubs off of the carts and just leaned them against the wall so we had to carry our very heavy bags and other stuff back to the, drop off area, then walk way out into the parking lot to get our cars. Do not plan to play there again.

16holes

Disappointed when we checked in to learn 2 holes were not open. We did not know this and would have played elsewhere if we had. Otherwise the course was in reasonable condition and has a good practice area.

2 holes closed not disclosed

The course itself was in good shape and I liked it. However, when we showed up they informed us that holes 4 and 5 are closed. They had some flood damage which I understand however, had I known I would have played somewhere else until it was back to an 18 hole course. The pro shop staff stated "that's why we gave you the twilight rate". How would I know that it's the twilight rate and I feel like I should be able to decide if I want to play 16 holes at a "twilight rate" of $92. There only water for drinking on the course was hole 17. At the turn the only place to get drinks is the restaurant. So you stand in the busy waitstaff area next to the kitchen and have a server get you drinks. This seems to be a poor set up. Why not get a cooler/fridge and put it in the pro shop? I feel the course could have been great with some basic fixes and in the future give Full Disclosure at the time of booking. I feel bad for the staff as I am sure they receive an earful from people showing up for their tee time only to find out then that it is not a full round of golf.
