Mesquite Golf & Country Club

This course is conveniently located in Palm Springs and has reasonable green fees. People are friendly and welcoming. Fairways are in good condition after extensive work this fall; back 9 greens are good; front 9 still need work with several having large sections of sand making putting a bit frustrating. Despite this, I would still come back as the scenery is lovely and pace of play is very good. Flood damage in Feb 2019 has meant the 16-18th holes have had to be reconfigured making the course par 68/69. Hopefully it will return to its original layout in the future.

the course needs a lot of TL&C and I would recommend the course to others.

Great scenery

This course is going under some vast improvements and is still in a state of repair. The Director of golf, Charles, advised me before I started that there was considerable work going on . He warned the green were spotty and was completely honest.

Value was excellent with great view of surrounding mountains. Recently had some flood damage so 17 and 18 are on temporary tee offs. Grass recently reseeded . Otherwise great little course!

This was the worst condition course I have ever played. I have played it each year for the last 6 years and it gets worse every year. I wish I would have read the other bad reviews before I pay money this year.

Employees friendly and course has great location and potential but needs repair and water

The fairways barely have grass. The greens are something akin to a shag carpet. The layout of the course is laughable. Truly, the worst excuse for a golf course I've ever encountered.

I'm surprised that GolfNow continues their relationship with this course.

A poorly maintained course suffering further from the Valentine’s Day rain event. Golf Now rate of $25.- not bad but when I wanted to show up early 45 mins the pro shop gal said it would have to be another $15.- for twilight rather than super twilight. Had it not for the mountains and actually knowing I was in Palm Springs, I would have thought I was playing some worn-out, hick-town track in rural who-knows-where? Nice enough layout and challenging greens so with a good bit more maintainance and repairs, it would be quite playable but don’t get caught paying more than $25. Ever.

Nice course sustained flood damage recently, so recovering

First off, I like Mesquite GC and have played there numerous times. But today, I played it with some friends from San Francisco and did NOT realize how much the recent storm has damaged it. I wish the Pro Shop would have warned us about the playing conditions instead of pointing us to the temp scorecard with numerous hole revisions. We still did not get a feel for the damaged course until we finished 17 and 18. But like I said I have played it before and would have rated it a high 3 star course. But right now (until it is fixed) it should offer discounted golf rates for the tough condition of the course.

My goal was to get a quick morning round in at an affordable course and Mesquite fit the bill. The pro was friendly, and as a single the other golfers happily waved me through . I got 18 holes in just over 2 hours. The course was in fair condition, with decent greens, though a couple of holes were damaged by the floods last month. For my first round of the year it was just what I wanted. I'll be back.

Our tee time was directly after the Men’s Club Championship time. Due to the important essence of their round (to them) everyone after had to play at their ego driven pace.

The course staff came out to let the following players know the reason for the really slow pace. When accepting tee times after the before mentioned Mens Club Mesquite should have not used the regular time spacing but one of at twice as long for a period of time, reducing it for another shorter period of time and then back to the regular spacing.

I realize that Mesquite is in business to make as money as they can, but doing it by inconveniencing the other paying customers is not a long term positive.

Wish I had known the condition of this course prior to booking a non-refundable tee time. Lots of bare spots due to flooding. The back nine has a few holes where the tee box had to be moved due to the damage - starting with turning a par 5 into a par 4, and then finishing up with 2 80-yard par 3s.

No snack bar or cart person either, so bring your own coffee/water/snacks.

It is to bad that recent rains flooded the course and put several holes out of c9mmission and forcing the course to change others holes as well. The greens are in good shape and most fairways are show8ng good growth. Would gladly play it agai;.
