Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

A fun day of golf
Had a great day of golf with the folks I was paired with. The pro shop was very friendly and helpful.
Pace of Play
Course and facilities were fine, but pace of play was agonizingly slow starting on the 2nd hole. There was a lack of communication between the Pro Shop, Starters and Course Marshall. Pro Shop told us we were paired with another couple. Got to first tee and Starter told us we were playing as a pair. Finished the first hole and the Course Marshall asked us to join the couple playing in front of us. Waited on every tee until we ran into darkness on number 15. Have played over 20 courses in the Coachella Valley and never experienced this slow pace of play.
Old school desert course
This course is tight, challenging and short. It's one of the early area courses and didn't have a lot of room to play with, but used what they had to put together a fun course. Go in with the right expectations and you will enjoy your round.
1 YR.= Big Difference
I thought last year was my last playing here because the conditions were going downhill. This year the course was rejuvenated to very good. The pace was fast (I don't know why) . Other than the 3 women I was originally paired with rejecting me because I may not be up to their quality of play everything was great. I couldn't contain my glee when just ahead of me on #6 all 3 put their tee shots in the water. They did miss some pretty good shots on my part! Alls well that ends well.
enjoyable to play. Good value for the price.
shorter course overall, but a par 70. In very good shape, and a little tight at times.
Best Value in the Desert for High Season 2014
Very happy to play this twice in the last week.
First of all, the price is right.
Secondly, the course is interesting to play. You have so many opportunities to test your game ... especially off the tee. So much to think about and strategize about.
Lastly, the views are awesome.
good for $$$
great for the $$$. not difficult but good course
to play if not trying for difficulty.
Old school golf
My wife and I are long-time fans of this old gem. Back in the day wjhen it was part of the Bob Hope Desert Classic the course was considered one of the best in the area, but with advent of better equipment and better pros, it became obsolete, but is still a good challenge for the low to high handicapper. Don't let the 6111-yard length fool you, there's plenty of trouble to get into, Club selection is paramount.
The course was in great shape, greens were a little slow but still challenging and we managed to get 18 in despite a 1:20 tee time,
Not worth the price.
Beautiful course, but for the price you would think the greens would be in good condition. very poor greens. sand traps poor condition as well. Also, you wouldn't know the state is in a drought there!
Excellent par 70
Only three sets of tee boxes and a slightly odd mixture of holes, but a very well maintained and overall satisfying course. Great views of mountains and houses mostly set back far enough to be unobtrusive. Walking is permitted and resident members often play nine holes.
Really liked this course
Greens and fairways in great condition. One of the most picturesque courses that I have played in this area. Played this course twice in three days, first time at a good pace, second time behind a two some that were the slowest that I have ever played behind.
Beautiful course!
We love this course! We played it for the first time and vowed we would come back to play again. Fairways and greens are very well kept. The course is challenging yet fun to play. Every hole provides a new adventure! The staff are very nice and made us feel welcome, even though we were not staying at Rancho Mirage. I highly recommend this course!
Great course for the value
Greens were great... Pace of play good need more restrooms
great condition
the course was in great condition and you could not beat the price for January in Palm Springs
Beautiful course
A great layout, with some challenging shot making. Great course for both young and old, I'd play it again.
challenging but fun
I had previously played Rancho Mirage but several years ago. The course was very challenging but fun especially the back 9 (played much better) lots of sand which I was in a lot.
I would definitely this course again and so would the couple we were with.
Course Condition Excellent
Course was in excellent condition, especially the greens, among the best you will find. Course was interesting, not too difficult but in some places.
Great Country Club
Very friendly staff, just what the need for a club with shrinking membership. Nice course with one strange hole.Number 10 a little quirky. Had a great time, played quickly, which is important to me. Would recommend it.
Play here every vacation
Got paired with some great folks, had a fun time. Got to use almost every club in the bag!
An old desert gem
Can't speak highly enough of Ranch Mirage CC. From the warm welcome at the bag drop, the pro shop, the starter and the lovely ladies in the shop afterwards, everyone soooo nice ! Greens were a little slow but the course is a gem. Might not be too stretching for you bombers out there, but perfect for a relaxing bit of holiday golf. Five stars !
