Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

Nice course
Very Slow play. Waited on every hole. They put to many golfers on the course. on every hole backed up to the point where we could see 8 golf carts on the hole.
The course has long par fours, nice greens
Enjoyed the day and golf course, tough par fours.

Well Worth A Visit
Excellent value for the money. Nice course, very acceptable pace of play (4:15), reasonably challenging but fair to the high handicapper. We will definitely play the course again.
This course needs more amenities!
Water and ice are free, cup is 50 cents. Needs towels, or place to wet towels. I think the only restrooms are at the clubhouse. Several par 4's are over 450 yards, while some par threes are short. They should have longer par 3's and shorter par 4's to even it out like most courses. Overall a nice course with friendly staff.
Good place to play early am
Tee off early and get out before it gets busy. Nice course and early bird price makes it worthwhile.
Lack of Maintenance
They have not kept the course up. Played twice a year ago and thought it was a very nice course. However, that was a year ago. Sand trap have not been groomed and were muddy. We're living in a draught and wet sand. Please add some sand to yhe bunkers and control the sprinklers so that they are dry. Faiways and greens hard as a rock. Many areas need grass to be seeded. Pace of play for a Sunday afternno was outrageously slow. 2 foursome's in front of us and we had to wait on every hole. Disappointed to say the least for what we paid.
Great Day But Stay Out of the Bunkers
Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Bunkers were wet and muddy with very little or no sand. Be sure to use the restroom prior to starting as there are no facilities on the course.
Nice Course
Other than being a little slow, it was a great day and nice course that's very well kept
Overbooked Cours VERY SLOW play
The deal was to good apparently the course was way overbooked and the play was painfully slow. At one point there were four foursomes waiting or playing on the same hole. The course was nice (a bit short only 6,100 yards) but we didn't come close to finishing due to the slow pace of play.
A fair test
We played with a 6 handicapper .He thought the course was fair. The holes are close together in a couple of areas.Agree with a previous review ,greens were firm and difficult to hold.We did enjoy the course.
Just ok course
Grass was close mowed. Being Bermuda, this translated into very tight lies. Greens were very hard and difficult to hold the ball. I paid less for much better courses in the area during the same week.
Who is doing bookings?
Had a 1:15 tee off. Arrived at 12:45. Asked if we could hit warm up balls which website said was included. Because we had booked thru Golf Now the attendant charged us $10.00. Getting a cart was chaos as everyone was waiting for one. They were loading people as carts came off course. Turned out they had been booking every 4 minutes at some point. We started our round about 1:45 but then waited to play every shot. Always 2 groups on tee box. Back 9 opened up as a lot of frustrated groups quit. We got 16 holes in by dark. The course was fine otherwise for the price. Somebody in the pro shop should be losing a job as all players were frustrated. Who was responsible for such ridiculous bookings.
Cart Problem, too many teeing off, didn't finish
This is the email I sent to Rancho Mirage.
We love playing Rancho Mirage. However yesterday was a bit of a disaster. Our tee time was at 1:07 pm. We arrived at 12:35. Around 12:45 a lot of players were waiting for golf carts including ourselves. After listening to the various people waiting for carts, they all appeared to have tee times that were only 3 minutes apart between12:50 and 1:07! Of course people were late going out as golf carts were not coming in very fast. Our tee time came and still no carts. I went inside with the other couple we were playing with saying we wanted to cancel and get out money back but as we paid through Golf Now and the other couple with Stand by Golf this was not possible. We were offered a rain check but this was no good as we and the other couple were heading back to Canada in a couple of days. Carts eventually arrived and we teed off close to 30 minutes late. Of course we did not finish.
I am writing this to make you aware of this problem especially as I thought most courses have at least 7 minute spacing between tee times.
Had good day
Signage needs to be better re yardage.
Check in curb side need up graded.
Desert Golf
Good value. Lots of water and bunkers for those of us who don't hit straight. Good greens and well kept.
Really enjoyed it
Par 70 but play from the back tees for decent challenge only 6,300 yards. Very nice layout with great par 3's. Fun to play and of course beautiful scenery
A great day
The course was in immaculate condition.
Staff at the Pro Shop and on the course were very friendly and helpful.
Pace of play was perfect.
We had a great day.
A very playable course
Course has some great holes, from 449 yr par 4's to short, place your shot carefully, holes.
