Rancho Mirage Country Club
About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

This course has been in great shape everytime we play here.
The course had just re-opened from seeding, fairways and tee boxes in great shape. The greens not yet mowed down so a little slow. But I have played this course at different times of the year and greens kept in great shape like the rest of the course.
Great course for the price!
I played 8 times while in the Palm Springs area and by far this was the best value and the course was in excellent condition. The only issue I had was the greens were a little slow for my taste. But, they were in the best condition of all the courses I played during my stay in the valley.
Course in excellent condition. One of best in area.
Great value for the money. Course in excellent condition. Challenging at times, but not real difficult.
Course had just been overseeded.Pristine shape.Fun to play.
This is a good course for couples to play and especially for a woman who hasn't played golf for very many years. The people who work here are so nice and the pace of play is outstanding.
Worst course I've ever played!
I drove over an hour and a half from my house to play out here for the weekend. We got to the course at 6am and were the first to tee off. I had asked the staff personnel how the conditions were and he went on to tell me that they haven't watered the course in over a week and were ready to start seeding. He said it was pretty bad and that there isn't much grass. There was no grass period. I was surprised to hear this bc I didn't see any notes online on either the course website or golfnow.com. I have never been more dissatisfied with a course in the 15 years that's I've played. I will never go back here again! Golfnow.com needs to do a better job with communicating with courses on course conditions and ammentities. Basically one of the first reviews I've done in a while, and very upset with the course. I feel like my friend and I were robbed of our money. Sorry for the long dramatic review, but people need to know of this course and lack of communication and conditions.
Horrible
From the moment we arrived this was a terrible experience. We had a 8:56 tee time and arrived at 8:00 planning on hitting balls. The manager accused us of trying to play a game by showing up early to get out early. Offered us no range balls or warned us that there would be no water on the course or cart girl in 100 degree heat. Course was in terrible shape and empty. Don't waste your money on a course soon to be broke.
Worse Than Expected (and my expectations weren't high)
I do want to be able to say something nice about this course. So here it is... I like courses with tree-lined fairways and holes that make you think about your shots. This course has these characteristics. However, on a scale of 1-10, the condition of this course gets a 3 - at best. You can't tell where the fairways end and the rough begins! The grass in the fairways was so long that it was like hitting out of the rough for most of my shots. The greens were also long and slow. They were mowing the fairways at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning - annoying. The clippings left in the fairways were so thick you could lose your ball! Based on what I saw, I think they only mow this course once a week! There wasn't more than 20 people on the entire course - which explains the poor mainentance. This course is likely having financial "issues". To top it off, the "pro" in the clubhouse was less than friendly and wasn't doing a very good job (dirty carts with empty sand bottles in every cart). Too bad. I liked the layout of the course. But the conditions were significantly below average. I will try playing this course one more time during the winter. But if the conditions aren't significantly better, that will be the last time I play the Rancho Mirage Country Club. Too bad, it could have been a nice course.
Great diversity of holes. Some long and some short, dog legs both left and right.
A good course to work on your game, and also to play with a friend . The bunkers need some work, but a good player can adjust to the different sand conditions.
Nice course
I Like to walk it and carry my bag. Glad the course allows it. and pace of play was great. 3 hour round on Thursday morning.
Got chastised by the pro shop for sharing the deal I got on GolfNow with another player.
Truly uncalled for. He said there was fine print that prohibits me talking about the deals I get on GolfNow. Are you kidding me?
Great deal!
Had a terrific time, playing this course. We played it twice.
Enjoyable day of golf
Golf course was in great shape. Several challenging holes. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere
Good test of golf
When we got to the course, we were told that the back nine was closed and that we had to play the front nine twice. Would've been nice to know that ahead of time but it was still good value for what we paid. Challenging golf, greens were good but had some brown areas.
Half the course was closed
Nowhere was it noted before I booked the tee time that the back nine was closed for repairs at this course. It was a disappointing round and my friends weren't too happy with me for choosing this place.
Country club atmosphere, enough water hazzards makes you pay attention to shot making
Due to aeration back 9 was closed played front 9 twice. Golfnow.com's rate made our group overlook lack of drinking water on every hole and no ice chest on carts. I've played here a couple of time and it's always been a nice experience.
Take your time.
The course was okay but nothing to brag about. The grass was long and the green were okay but again it was summer time. Also, the pace of play was slow .
Challenging with some tight fairway shots, but very enjoyable
Course had some tight tee shots but was a fun course with the challenges of traps and water. Good condition and noone out there at this time of year so finished in less than 3 hrs.
A great course with lots of desert history.
This is an excellent shady course on a hot desert day.
It is well maintained and lends itself to a quick pace of play.
Slow play no water
Started on 10th hole no water super slow play four guys ahead of us.Lots of lawn mowers sprinklers on and in really hot weather NO WATER yet they wont let you bring your own. Bugs everywhere.
Not enough water or ice
Very hot. No ice on the cart ?? When I asked the guy said that will take me 5 min. I told him I would pick it up on the turn, When we came back he wanted to know what we wanted it in?? I said don't you have coolers?? He gave me one but I felt like I as begging for it. Not enough water for refills o the course. When it is over 100 out people need water. Also greens were very poor some spots no grass!!
